Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Boldar looked down at the gash across his chest and realized he was not going make it back to camp before the blood loss got to him. He rested his back against a tree and accepted his fate. Just as he was about to lose consciousness, a translucent man appeared before him. "Boldar, My existence in this world is fading as is yours. If you take my hand I can save us both." Boldar thought for a moment and said "What have I got to lose?" as he extended his hand.

You are the host for some supernatural or otherworldly being. This could be an ancient spirit, wraith, specter, ghost or something from beyond the stars. Such pacts are often made out of desperation or as results of failed experiments. These patrons may not be as powerful as other beings who make deals with mortals, but the stakes for them are much higher. Their survival is dependent on your survival and they will do everything in their power to keep you alive.

Expanded Spell List

The Specter lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Otherworldly Endurance

Due to the symbiotic relationship you and your patron have, your survival is key to it's survival. Starting at 1st level, your patron will absorb damage for you. You have a pool of d4s that you spend to reduce incoming damage. The number of dice in the pool equals 10 + your warlock level.

As a reaction, you can reduce any incoming damage by spending dice from the pool. The maximum number of dice you can spend at once equals your Charisma modifier (minimum of one die). Roll the dice you spend, add them together, and reduce the damage equal to the total.

Your pool regains all expended dice when you finish a short or long rest.

Unnatural Movement

Your connection to your patron has increased, altering your physical form. Starting at 6th level,  you gain resistance to necrotic damage and you have a teleportation pool. The number of uses in the pool equals to 5 + your Warlock level. Each use is worth up to 10 ft of travel.

As a bonus action, you teleport by spending uses from the pool. You can spend a max of 1 + your Charisma modifier at once.

Your pool regains all expended dice when you finish a long rest.

Dark Rejuvenation

The dark power of your patron flows through you. Starting at 10th level, all necrotic damage you do from spells or other attacks is more potent doing half damage to creatures with immunity to necrotic damage and full damage to creatures with resistance to necrotic damage. Whenever you deal necrotic damage with a spell or cantrip, add an additional 1d8 necrotic damage to one creature affected. You regain half the additional damage rounded down as hit points.

Survival At All Costs

You and your patron's will to survive can push you beyond your normal limits. Starting at 14th level, when you have to make a death saving throw at the start of your turn, you can instead use this feature to unleash the power of your patron. For 1 minute you gain temporary hit points equal to half your hit point maximum and regain one spent spell slot. For the duration, you get a bonus to your AC equal to your Charisma modifier, all your attacks gain your Dark Rejuvenation damage which is increased to 2d8 and all the additional damage dealt you regain as hit points (no other healing is possible for the duration of this effect), and you can teleport up to 60 ft  as a bonus action. The effect ends when you have regained half your hit points, run out of temporary hit points, or run out of time, whichever comes first. At the end of the effect you must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or suffer one level of exhaustion. If you did not regain any hit points, revert to 1 hit point and gain 1 level of exhaustion. If the exhaustion would result in death you fall unconscious instead of gaining the exhaustion.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
