Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

All creatures, no matter what kind of life style they may live is always surrounded in shadow and darkness. Some spend their whole lives in it, while others who may live in the light may have found their mind or their very soul corrupted by such dakrness. It is these creatures who realise that shadows are everywhere, you cannot hide from them and you cannot run from them so instead, embrace them.

It is through this sheer acceptance of the shadows that they gain an affinity to it, by allowing the shadows in they have inturn opened the shadows up to themselves gaining special abilities so long as they are withing the darkness they now so covet. These creatures use their affinty to the shadow to vanish and reappear behind their foes, striking when they least expect weakening creatures with each hit as the darkness strives to envelop them, then retreating back into the shadows protection before they have any chance to counter-attack.

The shadows have no care for what these creatures do with these powers, only that they embrace them and allow them into their very being. This means that you can find ShadowSworn in a wide variety of roles through out the lands, some seek the shadows simply to hide themselves from others, where as others seek to use these powers to their own advantage, becoming expert spies or dangerous assassins.

To be a friend of a ShadowSworn is to have a friend of darkness, and darkness is everywhere.

3rd Level - Creeping Shadow

You gain an additional way to use your Sneak Attack; you dont need advantage on the attack roll against any creature if you are the only creature within 5ft of it, if there is no creature within 5ft of you, and you dont have disadvantage on the roll. All other rules for Sneak Attack still apply to you.

3rd Level - Umbral Strike

As an action you can vanish into the shadow and reappear behind any creature within 30ft of you. As part of this action if you are wielding a dagger in your main hand, you may make one attack against the target. This attack deals an addition 1D4 necrotic damage as shadows evelop the blade. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your wisdom modifier (minimum of once) per short rest.

9th Level - Shadow Infusion

Upon gaining this feature at 9th level, you have become so attuned to darkness that you gain resistance to necrotic damage.

Also you now heal an amount equal to the necrotic damage dealt by your Umbral Strike feature as you drain the darkness from within your enemies to infuse it with your own.

This feature ends early if you are incapacitated, you die or you choose to end it early as a bonus action on a subsequent turn. you can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier per long rest (minimum of once).

- Your body turns into shadow, allowing you to move through a creatures space. You cannot end your turn in another creatures space, if you do, you take 1D10 force damage and you are pushed to the nearest possible space within 5ft. You cannot be grappled while in this form and you can spend 5ft of movement to esscape an existing grapple.

17th Level - Enveloping Darkness

As an action you cast a shadow of darkness outward from yourself for 30ft in every direction (this area becomes heavily obsucred to all creatures within range except you) and you mark a number of targets equal to your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier (each target can only be marked once). As part of this action, provided you have a dagger equipped in your main hand, you vanish and reappear behind each target going from closest to furthest and make a single attack on each target (you must make a new attack roll for each target) then ending within 5ft of any of the marked targets (or the nearest space possible). The first target hit by this feature takes full sneak attack damage + the necrotic damage granted by your Umbral Strike feature, and all subsequent targets take attack damage as normal + the necrotic damage dice. You only heal for half of the total amount of necrotic damage dealt by this feature as the shadow retracts back into your body.
