Base Class: Monk
The Way of the Reflection requires its students to become wholly one with their bodies, mastering movement of their muscles to perform incredible feats of physical strength. Students of this school learn how to maximize their defensive capabilities, whilst also learning how to use an opponents attacks against them, by honing their own bodies . Using rapid blocks, artful dodges, and swift counter-attacks, it takes a lot of training to go hand to hand with a Reflective Monk.
Art of the Block
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can use your ki to duplicate the effects of certain spells. As an action, you can spend 2 ki points to cast false life, or shield, without providing material components. Additionally, you gain the resistance cantrip if you don’t already know it.
Quick Guard
At 6th level, you gain the ability to perform an advanced blocking move when a creature misses you with a melee attack. As a reaction you can spend a ki point to perform an advanced blocking move where your attacker suffers one of these adverse effects:
- Deflect: after you block a melee attack, your attacker must succeed a dexterity saving throw or take an Unarmed Strike from you.
- Disarm: after you block a melee weapon attack, your attacker must succeed a strength saving throw or will drop the weapon they struck you with.
- Stun: after you block an unarmed strike attack, your attacker must succeed a constitution saving throw or will suffer from the stunned condition until the end of your next turn.
You are unable to take this reaction when hit with a magic attack.
Command Over Body
By 11th level, you have become completely attuned to your body and can constantly controlled its movement. You are immune to being paralyzed and stunned.
Forceful Blow
By 11th level, your understanding of your body has progressed so much that you are able to shoot forceful energy from your appendages. Whenever you make an Unarmed Strike, roll an additional 1d4 force damage and add it to your attack.
Protection from the Elements
At 17th level, you have such mastery over your body that you are able to catch a small amount of elemental energy from an attack you were hit with and deflect it back to your attacker. Whenever you are hit by a creature's attack that inflicts acid, cold, fire lightning, or thunder damage, you can spend 3 ki points to use your reaction to make the dash action and then make a melee attack against that creature that deals an additional 1d8 + 4 of the damage inflicted. You also become resistant to these damage types.
