Base Class: Bard
Some Bards travel the width and breadth of the world searching for stories, songs, and magic to increased their knowledge of the world. Other Bards build inns, restaurants, or become the personal chefs for royalty and allow the world to beat a path to their door. Some Bards of the Culinary College who like to get their feet under them travel from town to town challenging local chefs, bakers, & brewers to cook-offs. Others hire on as camp cooks for groups of adventurers, caravans, or expeditions to exotic locales. No matter how they execute the duties of the College, all Culinarians compete to collect the most exotic recipes and bring them back to impress their fellow gourmets.
Bonus Proficiencies
When you join the College of Culinarians at 3 level, you are taught to use the tools of your trade so well you may even defend yourself and potentially your patrons with them. You gain proficiency with Cook’s Tools and Brewer’s Supplies as well as improvised weapons such as pots, pans, cleavers, mugs, barstools, etc. These improvised weapons cause 1d6 damage of the appropriate type in your capable hands
Hearty Meal
Also at 3rd level, you learn to prepare meals that are both hearty and fortifying for your companions. When you use your Song of Rest Bard ability, you sing or whistle as you work away over a hot fire creating a culinary concoction to sate hunger and strengthen your companions. In addition to the benefits normally gained through your Song of Rest, you may feed yourself and up to 6 companions. This meal gives them advantage on all Saving Throws against Disease & Poison for 12 hours.
At 11th level, this meal also provides Resistance to Poison for 6 hours after eating it.
Refined Palate
At 6th level, you have refined your palate to an incredible degree. After spending 1 minute examining a meal and/or drink you can speak to its origin and overall quality, but perhaps more importantly you can detect if the food and/or drink is poisoned or would confer some disease upon anyone who consumed or imbibed it.
You may also use this ability to discern the effect(s) of a magic potion or oil
Kitchen Tough
After years of working in kitchens you have become inured to its dangers. Upon reaching level 14, You gain resistance to damage from fire, and non-magical bludgeoning, slashing, & piercing attacks.
