Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

The Oath of Prosperity is followed by those paladins who believe in one thing above all else - wealth. Driven to collect, cherish and spend wealth, many paladins of this order are misers and hedonists, while others see coin as a means to spread goodly peace and justice. Regardless, all knights of prosperity, often called gold mercenaries, dragon knights and tax knights, are fueled by avarice and greed, even if they do good with what coin they keep. Prideful and typically neutral in most affairs, paladins of prosperity follow the coin wherever it goes, and one knows them by their hoard and glamour.

TENETS OF PROSPERITY

A paladin who takes this oath can often be seen as little more than a mercenary or anti-paladin. But their beliefs remain strong, and their greed stronger.

What's Mine is Mine, and What's Yours is Too. You have no obligation to sacrifice your wealth or yourself for others, so long as there is nothing to gain. You are entitled to what you gain, through whatever means necessary. The more you have, the more you can do. Take what you need and give nothing back without greater gain, whether further wealth, enjoyment or power.

Pride is Not Arrogance. Take pride in your successes. Enjoy what you have earned. A fine person deserves fine things, and those who hold themselves to a higher standard deserve a higher standard of living. Humility is a coward's shield to protect one's ego, and do not pretend to be less than you are to preserve the comfort of cowards. .

A Coin Has Two Sides. Coin is meant to be earned, but it is also meant to be spent. Success and prosperity are earned by the wealthy, and one must relish in their wealth. But one must not spend so much they cannot support their earned status. One must have enough wealth to adequately reflect their worth, but one must never have so much they are unsure what to do with it.

The Sword Cares Not Who Pays. Remain neutral, and remember the only true power and authority is coin. Do not stoop to the politicking of lesser creatures motivated by lesser ideals like good or evil, and law of chaos. Do what is necessary to earn the greatest wealth and the greatest purpose, no matter what words are given, deals are made, or morals demanding.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Aura of Greed. As an action, you present an object of wealth, driving deep desires of riches into your foes. Each creature of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you must make a Wisdom saving throw or be charmed by you until the spell ends, or until you or your companions do anything harmful to it. While charmed in this way, a creature can do nothing but use its movement to approach you in a safe manner. While an affected creature is within 5 feel of you, it cannot move, but simply stares greedily at the gem you present. This effect ends on the creature if you are incapacitated or die or if the creature is more than 30 feet away from you.

At the end of each of its turns, an affected target can make a Wisdom saving throw. If it succeeds, this effect ends for that target. You can end this effect on your turn as part of any other action.

Share the Wealth. Whenever a creature within 120 feet of you that you can see regains hit points or gains temporary hit points, you can use a reaction to grant the same amount of hit points or temporary hit points to another creature within 120 feet of you (including yourself) that you can see.
