Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

Arcane Assassins are members of an order that use trickery and deceit to advance their own goals, using things like invisibility and Illusion to their advantage. All the while enhancing their Evocation abilities to eliminate their targets with extreme, targeted prejudice.

Assassin’s Schooling

At 2nd level, you have practiced enough in your arts to gain proficiency in the Dexterity (Stealth) skill. The shadows are your friends, allowing you opportunities for stealth that border on the supernatural.

 In addition:

  • You can try to hide when you are lightly obscured from the creature from which you are hiding.
  • When you are hidden from a creature and miss it with a ranged spell attack, making the attack doesn't reveal your position.
  • You can attempt to hide even when you are obscured only by a creature that is the same size or larger than you.

Arcane Action

Also at 2nd level, you’ve learned how to strike at an enemy’s weak point in the midst of battle. While you are hidden and strike an enemy not currently aware of your presence, you can add 1d6 extra Force damage once per turn to one of your attack roll spells against an enemy struck by your spell. The number of damage dice increases at 6th, 10th and 14th level by two each time you reach that level. (1d6 at 2nd, 3d6 at 6th, 5d6 at 10th and 7d6 at 14th.)

You are also able to take the Disengage or Hide action as a bonus action, allowing you run or hide from your enemies in a pinch.

Strike From The Weave

At 6th level, you learn to use the ineffable magic of the shadow weave to strike at foes who are unaware of your physical presence. If you manage to strike a foe with a magical attack roll and they are Surprised, treat the attack as an automatic critical hit.

Invisibility Savant

At 10th level, you add the Greater Invisibility spell to your spellbook, if it is not there already. You can cast Greater Invisibility without expending a spell slot. When you do so, you can target only yourself.

Once you cast Greater Invisibility in this way, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest, though you can still cast it normally using an available spell slot.

In addition, your mastery of Stealth grants you Expertise in the skill.

Cast From The Weave

At 14th level, you master the School of Assassination. You’ve learned to use the mystical Weave while being completely silent. When you earn this ability, you are able to cast spells without having to use the Verbal component if it is required, allowing you to cast such spells while in an area of magical silence or, in the worst case scenario, having lost your ability to speak altogether. Such spells still require an available action, bonus action, or reaction to cast.

Additionally: as a bonus action, you can completely suppress any light or sound your spells create for the next minute. This ability comes back on a long rest.
