Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Many cultures throughout history have used paints to decorate the bodies of their warriors before going into battle. These symbols can be to invoke the spirits, the gods, or even the ancestors of a tribe. For some, this is an elaborate ritual attended by shamans, elders, family members, perhaps the rest of the tribe as well. Others view the marking as a personal undertaking in which they can make their own personal prayers and peace for the coming battle. Symbols can be marked onto the body with any number of materials, including blood, ash, paint, and woad. Regardless of the medium, the Symbols remain visible until they are removed and reapplied during the next ritual.

Regardless of their individual traditions, those who choose the Path of the Painted Warrior seek the same results. Strength, protection, speed, courage, and wisdom for the battle to come. Characters who take up this subclass are able to choose from a number of Symbols to apply to themselves with each Long Rest. The benefits of the chosen Symbol lasts until the next Long Rest, when they can choose to utilize a new Symbol or to reapply the same one. - Homebrew by Rize/ Archaeolexi

Symbols of the People (Level 3)

The Symbols of the People are the most basic Painted Symbols known to those who practice the Path of the Painted Warrior. They are placed upon the body in order to protect and guide a warrior in the heat of battle. A character can choose one Symbol of this type to use when taking a Long Rest.

Symbol of the Crashing Blade: A warrior bearing this symbol is able to call upon its power to increase his damage in battle. When entering a rage, the character chooses one enemy within 30 feet. Whenever he strikes that enemy with an attack, he deals 1d4 extra points of Force damage. If the target dies, the character may change to a new target as a Bonus Action. This effect ends when the character's rage ends.

Symbol of Iron Flesh: A warrior bearing this mark becomes harder to harm in combat as her flesh shrugs off blow after blow. This mark provides a +2 armor class bonus when a character enters a rage. It lasts until that rage ends.

Symbol of the Swift: A warrior bearing this mark becomes faster in combat, moving to engage his enemies with all haste. When the character enters a rage, his speed is increased by 15 feet for one round. While raging all opportunity attacks against the character are made with disadvantage.

Symbol of Unity: A warrior bearing this mark becomes more instinctually attuned to his comrades in arms, working together to bring down even the most fearsome of foes. While raging, a character bearing this mark gains advantage on all attacks made against an enemy if there is an allied character within five feet of the target, and that ally is not incapacitated.
