Base Class: Barbarian
Utterly insane, defying the laws of physics with their beastly strength and occasional breath of fire, Psycho barbarians are an oddly mid-ranged style barbarian who can just as easily hold their own up close. (Yes this is just Krieg from the Borderlands series, shut up).
Psychotic Rampage
Beginning at 3rd level, when you rage, you can choose to Psychotic Rampage instead. While in a psychotic rampage, you gain the following benefits:
- All throwable weapons with a range shorter than (30/90), now have a range of (30/90).
- All non-throwable weapons that don't have the heavy property now have a range of (20/60).
- Thrown weapon attacks now gain your rage damage bonus to their damage rolls.
Additionally, you gain one indefinite madness from the indefinite madness table found in the DMG.
Psycho's Pitch
Beginning at 6th level, you can add your strength modifier and Dexterity modifier to the damage rolls made with thrown weapon attacks, regardless of which modifier you used for the attack rolls. Additionally, you can apply your reckless attack feature with thrown weapon attacks now.
Psycho's Mutation
Starting at 10th level, whenever you begin a psychotic rampage, you can choose to mutate into a terrifying form. You choose it's appearance based on one of the following options that you choose when you begin a psychotic rampage:
Release the Beast: You gain the benefits of the Enlarge aspect of the enlarge/reduce spell. While enlarged in this way, any throwable weapons who’s range is lower than (40/120) becomes (40/120) and any non throwable weapon without the heavy property gains a throwable weapons range of (30/60).
Hellfire Halitosis: Once on each of your turns, as an action, you can exhale a 20ft cone of fire. You deal a number of d6 equal to your rage damage bonus of fire damage. Any creatures caught in the cone must make a dexterity saving throw, (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your constitution modifier). On a success, a creature only takes half damage.
Numb Mind
At level 14, your psychosis has started to actually become a benefit for you mentally against all odds. You gain resistance to psychic damage, and have advantage against being charmed and frightened.

Posted Dec 13, 2020Disclaimer: My name is Raphael & I am using D&D beyond to easily catalogue some of the classes I have been homebrewing. Now in all honesty, quite a lot of my homebrew is either directly taken or influenced by pre-existing homebrew. I am just using this space to easily keep track of my homebrew subclasses that I use in my specific world that I’ve created. Most of the homebrew is homebrew I actually made myself, however if you would like to use it or catalogue it for yourself, please feel free to!
