Base Class: Wizard
The School of Sooth is one that specializes in the forthcomings of time and death, many lone practitioners would call themselves soothsayers or oracles. Sooth is considered widely to be a more acceptable method of learning about necromancy, though many still shun it for its relation to such a controversial subject.
Objective Reliability
At second level, you gain proficiency in the Insight and Persuasion skills if you did not already have them. When you reach tenth level in this class, you double your proficiency in these skills.
Soothsaying
Starting at second level, you can predict the outcome of one event that is to come in the following day. Once per long rest, you can grant either advantage or disadvantage on an attack, skill check, or saving throw that you can see.
Seer's Foretelling
When you cast a spell of first level or higher of the Divination or Necromancy schools, you can add 1d4 to your spellbank. These are called your oracle dice. You can have as many dice in your spellbank equal to your proficiency bonus + your spellcasting modifier. You can expend one of these dice whenever you make a attack or skill check and roll below 10. Once you run out of dice in your spellbank you can only regain them by casting a Divination or Necromancy spell, or taking a long rest.
Sortilege Sortings
Beginning at tenth level, you can expend a spell slot to learn an aspect of a creature you know about. You can decide what of the following attributes you learn:
- A creature's Alignment and monster type (if any).
- A creature's Hit Points (if any) or one ability the creature has.
- The target's approximate location.
- The target's rarity / challenge rating (if any).
If the target is a creature, it must make a saving throw equal to your spellcasting DC, if it fails you learn the attribute you're searching for and gain advantage on the first attack or skill check you make against it. Undead, Fiends, Elementals, and Aberrations have disadvantage on this check.
Death's Verdict
You can now use your oracle dice in your spellbank on any non-hostile creature. If you or an ally makes an attack roll, and you choose to expend your oracle dice in your spellbank you can add the number rolled to the attack's damage. This additional damage is necrotic or psychic (your choice). Additionally, your oracle dice are now D6's.
