Base Class: Barbarian
Some warriors keep trophies to show proof of their deeds. Others write their legend into tomes where they gather dust. A Toa marks their accomplishments in their flesh and in their Haka.
Ferocious warriors who inspire awe in their allies and fear in their enemies, a Toa is cover with deep grooved tattoos that tell of their deeds, empower the body, and grant them access to life force known as Mana.
Haka Dance
When you take this path at third level you gain access to the life force known as Mana that courses throughout all living beings. This Mana empowers your moments when you display your ferocity and prowess with your Haka War Dance.
You can spend 10 minutes inspiring your companions, shoring up their resolve to fight. When you do so, choose up to six friendly creatures (which can include yourself) within 30 feet of you who can see or hear you and who can understand you. Each creature can gain temporary hit points equal to your level + your Strength modifier. A creature can't gain temporary hit points from this feature again until it has finished a short or long rest.
Mark of Ta Moko
When you gain this feature at 6th level you have begun the process of carving and grooving your flesh with the marks of Ta Moko, tattoos infused with lifeforce Mana. Each mark holds great significance and each one represents a different aspect. From strength and power to athleticism and speed, each Ta Moko empowers their wearer in different ways. You choose one mark at 6th level and another at 10th, and again at 14th.
Mark of Ahu Ahu Mataroa
A symbol of athletism, with this mark your movement speed is increased by 20ft. Additionally, you may cast the haste spell on yourself once per long rest while you are raging.
Mark of Hikuaua
Prosperity and luck have been granted to you, whenever you enter a rage you may reroll all 1s on attack rolls, damage rolls, and saving throws, you must use the new roll.
Mark of Pakati
This mark symbolises the warrior, strength, courage, and battle. When you mark yourself with the mark of Pakati you gain a +2 to strength whenever you enter a rage.
Mark of Taratarekae
From the tooth of a whale. When marked with this Ta Moko you become as at home in the water as you are on land. You gain the ability to breathe underwater, your movement speed is not reduced and all melee attack rolls no longer have disadvantage while underwater.
Mark of Unaunahi
You have been granted an abundance of health and vitality. When marked you gain resistance to all slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning damage even when not raging. Additionally, when entering a rage you are granted further resistance to the previously mention damage types. For example, if a longbow deals 20 piercing damage you take 10 damage while not raging and 5 damage while raging.
Ta Moko
At 9th level on the Path of the Toa you have continued to carve the grooves of the Ta Moko into your skin, you may choose another Ta Moko from the list.
Final Mark
When you reach level 14 on the Path of the Toa you may choose a final Ta Moko, the application of this mark leaves no room for further Ta Moko.
Consume Mana
The ultimate technique a Toa can learn in combat. Whenever you hit a foe with a critical melee strike they must make a Constitution saving throw (DC=10+Strength modifer+proficency) on a failed save the target's constitution score reduced by one and their maximum hit points are reduced by the damage dealt and you gain tempory hit points equal to the damage dealt. On a successful save the targets maximum hit points aren't reduced and you gain tempory hit points equal to half the damage dealt.
Additionally, whenever a target is slain by this critical you gain tempory hit points equal to the targets max prior to any hit point reduction. These hits points last for 24 hours and you are able to distribute any gained temporary hits points to allies that benefit from your Haka war Dance.
