Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Your patron is an ancient and powerful hag, who may be an evil fae that delights in dark magic, or a witch twisted into a sinister shape by her pursuit of knowledge and power. Perhaps the vile creature took you from your crib while you were still a baby, or spirited you away while you were lost in the forest. Others still seek hags willingly for their knowledge and power, concluding deals they may come to regret. Whatever the case may be, your dark pact made you a master of curses and ill omens, and bring down the full force of ill fate upon those who would dare to wrong you.

Witch's Cunning

Your dealings with a powerful witch have made you well-versed in the workings of magic. At 1st level, you gain proficiency in Intelligence (Arcana) checks. If you already have proficiency in this skill, you may double your proficiency bonus instead.

Hexcrafter

Also at 1st level, you become adept with bringing subtle misfortune upon your foes. You know the Hex spell and it is no longer a concentration spell for you. In addition, once per turn when you roll damage for your Hex spell, you may reroll the d6. Regardless of the outcome, you must use the new result.

Cursemonger

At 6th level, you learn to bring down the full force of ill fate upon one unfortunate foe. You learn the spell Bestow Curse and it is a Warlock spell for you.

If you cast Bestow Curse upon the target of your Hex, the target has disadvantage on its saving throw against Bestow Curse. Any time the target of your Bestow Curse suffers damage from your Hex spell, it automatically deals 6 necrotic damage.

Insidious Curse

At 10th level, foes who manage to shake off the brunt of your curse still feel its repercussions. If the target of your Hex succeeds on its saving throw against your Bestow Curse, for one minute thereafter, it must roll a d4 and subtract the number rolled from any attack roll or saving throw it makes, as if afflicted by the spell Bane. This does not require your concentration and stacks with Bane. In addition, it’s considered to be affected by Bestow Curse for the purposes of your Cursemonger and Master of Curses features.

Fateweaver

At 14th level, you mold the fate of your cursed enemies like putty in your hands. At the end of each long rest, you roll 3 d20 Portent dice, as a Divination wizard. Whenever a creature affected by both your Hex and Bestow Curse rolls a d20 for an attack roll, a saving throw or a skill check, or whenever another creature rolls an attack roll against that creature, a skill check relating to it or a saving throw against a spell or effect caused by it, you may substitute the result with that of one of your Portent dice. This applies before effects that add to a roll or reduce it (such as Bane and Bless), but after advantage or disadvantage.

Additionally, you may cast Bestow Curse without providing verbal and somatic components, and whether the target succeeds or fails its saving throw, it has no idea you cast magic on it unless you will it. If you don’t, the target attributes the curse’s effects to bad luck, sudden illness, divine punishment, etc. At the DM’s discretion, particularly egregious effects may prompt the target to make an Intelligence (Arcana) check against your Charisma (Bluff) check to realize it’s been cursed, though depending on when the effects of the curse manifest, it may not realize exactly who cursed it.
