Base Class: Monk
True power comes from spirit, not strength. To train the body is admirable, but to train the soul is heroic, and with these lessons you have become enlightened. The divine power that lies in your soul has been stirred from its sleep, and now powers you through all endeavors. The monks of the islands had a philosophy of the soul, a philosophy which you must now live by to show the world your greatness.
While other monk sub-classes offer more ways to use your ki, this subclass gains power from saving its ki up and not using it. This unique take on the monk provides pretty powerful bonuses, both to activities inside and outside of encounters, given that you don't use your ki constantly. You'll also receive several bonuses to charisma, and eventually, proficiency in intimidation, or a boost to charisma and wisdom if that is already a proficiency. This class is designed to give the monk a more powerful but simpler image. Leave a comment if you feel like there's any balancing changes I need to make, I'm open to ideas.
Enjoy!

Strength of the Soul
When you have at least one less than the maximum amount of your ki points remaining (i.e. if you have a maximum of 4 ki points, the following bonuses apply if you have at least 3 ki points remaining), you gain the following bonuses:
- +1 modifier to attack and damage throws
- +1 modifier to intimidation checks
- +1 modifier to dexterity, strength and constitution saving throws
Additionally, you gain proficiency in all simple melee and simple ranged weapons. On the downside, you also lose any proficiency you have with martial melee and martial ranged weapons.
Martial Bombard
At 6th level, you gain the ability to deal an extra 2 damage to an enemy, once per encounter. Doing so recovers 1 ki point, as well as health equal to twice your monk level.
Additionally, you gain +2 to your base charisma, and +1 to your strength modifier.
Spirit Resonance
Beginning at 11th level, your damage throws are increased by an amount equal to half the amount of ki points you have remaining (if you have 4 ki points remaining, your damage will increase by 2).
Additionally, you gain proficiency in intimidation. If you are already proficient in intimidation, gain +2 to your charisma base, and +1 to your wisdom base.
The Sanguine Chant
At 17th level, you gain the ability to use your powerful spirit to retaliate against all your assailants. If you are attacked and roll a successful saving throw, you may immediately attack back at them if they are within melee range. The damage of this attack, if it is an unarmed attack, is decided by a d20, in addition to the other modifiers you receive.
Additionally, your dexterity, constitution and charisma saving throws gain a modifier equal to half of your remaining ki points (if you have 10 ki points, the modifier will be 5).
