Base Class: Ranger
Blood Hounds are rangers adapted to tracking and hunting. They have extremely honed senses and superior tracking techniques.
Honed Senses
You gain proficiency in the Perception and the Survival. Furthermore, your proficiency bonus is doubled for any checks you make with these skills.
Advanced Tracker
When you reach 3rd level, your tracking capabilities give you an edge over your enemies. As a bonus action on your turn, you gain an insight into your surroundings. For 1 minute, you know the location of every creature within 100 feet of your location in all directions. While this is active, no creature can benefit from being Invisible and you can't be surprised. Furthermore, no creature can benefit from half or three-quarter cover from your attacks, and automatically fails any Stealth checks to hide from you. While active, you perceive creatures in an infrared sight.
You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain all expended uses at the end of a Long Rest.
Lingering Tracks
At 3rd level, your tracking skills lets you see that which others cannot. When a creature moves or does anything, it leaves tracks, which appear bright red and glowing, only to you. These tracks can take the form of footprints, droppings, campfires or any other indication a creature passed through here. These tracks last for 24 hrs after being made before you lose the ability to view them in this way, but can still be viewed and examined normally. When you come into contact with one of these tracks, you can use your action to know exactly how long ago these tracks were made, the size of the creature that made them, how many other creatures the tracked creature may be travelling with, and-if the tracks permit (DM's discretion)-what direction the creatures are headed in.
Beast Sense
When you reach level 7, you inherit a certain animalistic element to your combat and tracking. As a bonus action on your turn, you grant yourself a greater sense into your surroundings. For 1 minute, your speed increases by 10 feet, you know the location of all creatures within 150 feet of you, and your attacks deal extra damage of an amount equal to your Ranger level + your proficiency bonus.
You can use this feature once per Short or Long rest.
Gift of the Allfather
At 11th level you channel the divinity of the Allfather into you. As an action, you can channel this gift in one of three ways. You choose one of the following options and gain its benefits. You can use this feature once per Long Rest.
- Your Strength becomes 18. If it is already higher than 18, your current Strength Score increases an amount equal to your proficiency bonus. This benefit lasts for 1 minute.
- You instantly regain all expended uses of your Advanced Tracker or Beast Sense ability.
- You describe one creature you know off, and for 1 hour you know the exact location of the creature. If the creature is on another plane of existence than you, you know which plane it is on, but not how to reach it.
Apex Tracker
When you reach 15th level your tracking capabilities reach their maximum. When using your Lingering Tracks feature, tracks do not loose their ability to be viewed in this way after 24 hrs, but instead only loose the ability to be viewed if the tracks are covered up or destroyed. Additionally, if you make a successful DC 15 Wisdom (Survival) check, on a creature, you can see within 60 feet of you, you know the exact location of the creature for 1 week, as long as it is on the same plane of existence as you. You can use this feature in this way once per Long rest. If you use this feature in this way against a different creature, you loose the tracking of the original creature, and so forth for subsequent creatures.
