Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Born in an age of waning magic, warded against harmful spell craft while in the womb, or conceived within an anti-magic field, your beginnings have affected your blood. Through stories, you've learned that sorcerers enter into their power with bursts of flame, bolts of lightning, or howls from beasts–but none of that heralded your power. Instead, you may have caused a ward to fade, absorbed a firebolt from a hostile mage, or erased an enchantment from a piece of jewelry. However it presented itself, your power brought with it silence.

Silent Magic

1st-level Silent Still feature

You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Silent Spells table. Each of these spells counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.

Silent Spells
Sorcerer Level Spells
1st detect magic, silent image
3rd nondetection, silence
5th dispel magic, counterspell
7th dimension door, banishment
9th mislead, scrying

In addition, consult the Manifestations of Stillness table and choose or randomly determine a way your connection to order manifests while you are casting any of your sorcerer spells.

Manifestations of Stillness
d6 Manifestation
1 Color fades from your immediate surroundings.
2 A faint dust blows off of magic items in your vicinity.
3 Regardless of the environment, your hair and clothing remains still.
4 Pockets of space around you distort or disappear.
5 Your spellcasting focus temporarily disappears.
6 The internal dialogues and voices of those around you go silent.

Nullify

1st-level Silent Still feature

Your anti-magic essence provides you the opportunity to defend yourself from spells that would otherwise harm you. As a reaction, when you are targeted by a spell, you can expend a sorcery point to roll a d6. On a roll of 4 or higher, you negate the spell's effect and absorb its energies.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Untraceable Spellcraft

6th-level Silent Still feature

You gain the ability to cast spells without any detectable traces. When you use the Subtle Spell metamagic, you can also choose to eliminate one additional sensory effect of the spell (like visual or olfactory cues) that doesn't directly impact the spell's effect. For example, a projectile might become invisible, but the damage it causes will still be present. This makes your spellcasting almost impossible to detect, even by those observing you closely.

Quiet Aura

14th-level Silent Still feature

You emanate an aura of magical silence. As an action, you can activate an aura with a 10-foot radius that moves with you and lasts for 1 minute or until you dismiss it as a bonus action. Within this aura, all sound is magically silenced, and treated as though affected by the silence spell. Additionally, while the aura is active, any creature of your choice that starts its turn in the aura has disadvantage on saving throws against spells you cast this turn.

This effect does not require concentration but can't be used again until you finish a long rest.

Anti-Magic Aegis

18th-level Silent Still feature

Your presence becomes a nexus of anti-magic. As an action, you can emanate an intense field of nullifying energy. For the next minute, any spell of 5th level or lower cast within 30 feet of you is automatically nullified. This does not consume a spell slot or material components for the caster. For spells of 6th level or higher, you can use your reaction and spend sorcery points equal to the spell's level to attempt to nullify it; make an ability check using your spellcasting ability against a DC of 10 + the spell's level. You regain the use of this ability after a long rest.

Once you use this action, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
