Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Hunter practice attuning to the ki from the animals around them. In doing so, these monks are able to call upon many animal's strengths. Starting at the 3rd level, they can learn to acquire Strength, Wisdom, or Agility, Speak to beasts, Tame a familiar, and summon Ursa Major.

Hunter Technique

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can harness the ki of the animals around you. Whenever you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, as a bonus action you may gain the Strength of the Bear, the Wisdom of the Owl, or the Agility of the Mouse.

  • You may add a [roll]1d6[/roll] to your attack roll.
  • You gain advantage on all wisdom checks.
  • You may move an extra 10 feet, climb a vertical surface, or move through the space of an enemy of equal size or larger.

Resets charges upon long rest.

Tongues of the Wild

At 6th level, you gain the ability to speak to beasts. As an action, you may speak to an animal of your choosing for 10 minutes. You must finish a long rest before you can use this feature again.

Familiar

Beginning at 11th level, you tame a beast that will act as your familiar. Your ki resonates within it allowing you to sense where they are at any present time.

Beast

You may tame a bat, cat, crab, frog, hawk, lizard, owl, poisonous snake, rat raven, spider, weasel as a familiar.

Ursa Major

At 17th level, you gain the ability to Conjure an astral bear. When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend 3 ki points to summon Ursa Major who will perform a slash with it's claws. When you use this action, the creature must make a Dexterity. If it fails, it takes 10d10 slashing damage. If it succeeds, it takes 5d10 slashing damage.

You may only use this at night. This has unlimited uses so long as you have the ki points.
