Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

Hedge Wizards lack the scholarly resources of their more privileged magical peers, and as such have adapted to a life of quick thinking and dogged pursuit of magic in all it's forms. This pursuit of magical knowledge has exposed them to new ways to wield magic makes them formidable in their own right, even if the larger community of Wizards scoffs at their nature.

Magic is a force of nature they yearn to understand and control, without deferring to the haughty classifications of their other peers.

Thirst for Knowledge

2nd-level Hedge feature

Beginning at 2nd level, you gain proficiency in Arcana if you don't already have it, and have advantage on all Arcana checks make to identify spells, spell effects, or to use spell scrolls for spells you do not know.

Additionally, you learn one additional cantrip from the Wizard spell list.

Eidetic Memory

2nd-level Hedge feature

At 2nd level your quick thinking and talent for observation has given you the capacity to observe and remember a spell cast by another. When a target you can see within 60 feet casts a spell, you may use your reaction to temporarily memorize the verbal and somatic components.

You may duplicate the spell cast at it's base level or higher within 1 minute using your Wizard Spellcasting modifier or save DC. You must have a spell slot available for the level you wish to cast and any material components required.

Once cast, the verbal and somatic components are forgotten. If you use this feature again before casting a spell you've memorized this way, the first spell is forgotten and replaced by the new one.

Spell Cascade

6th-level Hedge feature

Beginning at 6th level, you have learned to recapture some of the energy expended by spell casting. As a bonus action on your turn, you can begin a spell cascade, borrowing power equal to half the level of any spell you cast this turn, rounded down, and store that energy until the end of your next turn.

On your next turn, you may upcast any spell of 4th level or lower with your cascade, provided the combined effect will not exceed 6th level. The total upcast is equal to the spells level plus your cascade stored. (For example, you cast a 2nd level spell. On the subsequent turn you would be able to cast magic missile at 2nd level or higher by expending a 1st level spell slot combined with the 1st level cascade stored.)

If the cascade is not used on your next turn to amplify a spell, the effect is lost. You may use this feature a number of times equal to your intelligence modifier, minimum 1, and regain all expended uses on a long rest.

Arcane Versatility

10th-level Hedge feature

At 10th level, you become more adept at identifying magical effects and reacting in combat. As a reaction, you may substitute your Arcana proficiency for any skill check you make or add your Intelligence modifier to any saving throw. You may use this feature after making a roll, but before knowing the result. You can use this feature 3 times and regain all expended uses on a long rest.

Street Survivalist

14th-level Hedge feature

At 14th level, living life on the street has trained you to survive by any means. Once per long rest, whenever you take damage which would reduce you to 0 hit points, you may use your reaction to drop to 1 hit point instead. You also gain temporary hit points equal to your wizard level and may teleport to another point within 30 ft that you can see, provided that space is unoccupied.

You may use this feature once per long rest.
