Base Class: Fighter
The shield guardians are a group that has specialised in using the shield for both defence and offence. A long time ago they started as a group of bodyguards that eventually found it to be easier to use their shield to hit someone when suddenly attacked then to draw their weapons. Over time this evolved into a unique fighting style based on solely using their shields. This specialisation even lead to weaving slight magical power into their fighting style.
Weaponized Shield
Starting at 3rd level, a shield becomes a weapon in your hands letting you use it for your attacks. It deals 1d8 bludgeoning damage, uses your strength for attack and damage rolls and has the versatile property (1d10).
Shield Expert
Also at 3rd level, you gain the Shield Master feat.
Shield Throw
Starting at 7th level, by tapping into some magical power, you can throw your shield, bouncing it between targets before having it return to your hands. As an action you can make a ranged weapon attack against a creature or solid object within 30ft of you. If you hit a creature it takes damage equal to your normal one-handed attack. When attacking a solid object that object has an AC of 5 but does not take damage. After you hit a creature or solid object you can make another attack against a different creature or solid object within 15ft of the previous target. You can repeat this until you’ve hit a number of creatures or objects equal to the number of attacks you can make with your attack action. Once you cannot make another attack or after you miss an attack, the shield flies back to your hands.
Multiattack Shield
Starting at 10th level, when a creature hits you with an attack, you gain a +4 bonus to AC against all subsequent attacks made by that creature for the rest of the turn.
Absorbing Shield
Starting at 15th level, when you are with an attack or effect that would push you away your shield absorbs most of the impact. You are pushed only half the distance (rounded down) and can use your reaction not move at all. In addition, you can throw your shield to protect others. As a reaction, when a creature within 30ft of you is hit with an attack and you can see it and it is not behind full cover, you can grant your Multiattack shield feature to that creature. If you do, you are no longer under the effects of the multiattack shield feature until the start of your next turn.
Ever Bouncing Shield
Starting at 18th level, when scoring a critical hit as part of your Shield throw feature, the attack count is set back to zero, letting you make more attack rolls. For example, after hitting a creature with your first throw, you then hit a wall as part of the second attack and make an attack against your third and final target and score a critical hit. Now you can make 3 more attacks.
