Bard
Base Class: Bard

Members of the College of the Masks are accomplished actors who use their acting skills to deceive, trick and mislead their enemies. To complement their acting skills, these bards also favor the magical school of illusion - using spells that fools one’s senses masterfully to further enhance their performances and deceptions.

While the obvious profession for bards of the College of the Mask might be to act on the stage of a grand theater, they also commonly fill the roles of spies - being experts at infiltration and subterfuge.

Professional Performer

Starting when you choose this College at 3rd level, you’ve become an expert at deceiving and misleading people, using your talents as an actor to do so. You gain the following features:

Cunning Actor. You gain proficiency in the Charisma (Deception) and Charisma (Performance) skills. Your proficiency bonus is doubled with these skills.

Donning the Mask. You gain proficiency with the Disguise Kit, and learn the Disguise Self spell. You can cast this spell a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier per long rest, without requiring any material components or spell slots.

Inspired Impressions. Whenever you roll a Charisma (Deception) or Charisma (Performance) check while disguised through magical or non-magical means, you can choose to expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration and add the result of the roll to the ability check.

Profoundly Deceptive

At 6th level, you’ve complimented your skills as an actor with your talents for magic. While your identity is concealed by a magical or non-magical disguise, creatures that have not seen through your disguise have disadvantage on any saving throws or ability checks they make against illusion spells you cast.

Curtain Call

At 14th level, your acting skills and sense for trickery and deceptions has made you formidable enough to cheat even death itself. Whenever you drop to 0 hit points, you can choose to roll a Charisma (Performance) check. If the result of the check equals a 20 or higher, you regain a number of hit points equal to twice your Charisma modifier.

You can use this feature once per long rest.
