Base Class: Barbarian
A long dead warrior who has died in a previous engagement roams the world looking for a viable vessel. Too angry to die, but with no body to inhabit this vengeful spirit just becomes more angry and corrupted as time goes by. These spirits are drawn to warrior cultures and upon finding a particularly angry warrior they attempt to possess or ride along inside of the body of a barbarian. Living in the barbarians heart, mind, and soul, the spirit infuses the warrior with a dark necrotic power. Often times these spirits will try to urge you towards violence or have ulterior motives.
Rage of the undying
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can activate this aura that persists until the end of your rage. In a 5ft circle based on yourself, anyone who is in melee combat with you takes 5 necrotic damage from the angry spirits lashing out. These spirits take the form of ethereal tendrils that whip about your body.
Fear the undead
Beginning at 6th level, you can make a roar boosted by the power of your undead passenger. The spirit gives you a portion of its power and energy allowing you to make another attack. After you take an action, you can use your bonus action to make one melee or ranged attack.
One with the spirits
Beginning at 10th level, your body begins to age at a much slower rate. For every 10 years you only age 1 year. You also lose the need to sleep, eat, or breathe. You become much harder to kill and once per long rest when you are reduced to 0 hit points, you instead only drop to 1.
Revengeful Smite
Starting at 14th level, when you take damage from a creature that is within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to make a necrotic fueled smite in retaliation. Power from the spirits swirl around you and burst forth on a hit. The bonus damage from this smite 8d8 and the damage type is necrotic.
Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or Long Rest before you can use it again.
