Base Class: Barbarian
You stride into the battlefield, screaming at your enemies incoherently as your rage consumes you.
The goblins run at you, seeing an unarmed person as an easy target, no matter how big and angry. One pokes you with a spear, but you swat it aside as a trail of blood runs down your forearm and over your massive clenched fists.
You howl to the sky and unleash a mighty jab at the creature’s face. Fire burns out of your body, up your arm and coalesces around your fist. As you knuckle connects with the goblins wickedly grinning face, fire explodes burning off its scraggily hair.
You spin around seeking more targets and wade into the group of goblins behind you. They stab and poke at you, but it just makes you madder and the fire within you begins to build again. You unleash an assault of fists on the targets around you, flailing with reckless abandon fire exploding from your hands and scorching all around you.
You grin as the fire burns your enemies, just as it burns inside you………
Exploding Fist
At Level 3 you channel your inner rage in to your punches and you can make the rage flow out of you as pure energy as you land your strike.
When raging, your unarmed attacks do 1d6 bludgeoning damage.
Your fury can also manifests as one of the following energy types: force, fire, lightning / thunder or cold. You must choose one type and you cannot change it.
When you are both raging and attacking recklessly, the first successful unarmed strike of your turn does and additional 1d6 energy damage to everyone within a 5 feet radius of your successful strike. The strike from the energy does not harm you.
Fuel to your Flames
At Level 6 you are also now resistant to your Exploding Fist energy damage type and all unarmed attacks whilst you rage count as magical damage for purposes of resistance.
Additionally, pain fuels your rage. If you are hit in combat and take damage before your next turn, your Exploding Fist increases to 2d6 energy damage for that turn only (from the base 1d6 damage).
Detonate
At Level 10 you are immune to your Exploding Fist Energy Type.
If you are raging, you can use your action to slam your fists on to the ground and the area explodes around you! You cast Fireball centred on yourself (8d6 damage), but the damage type is the same as your Exploding Fist damage type.
Using this ability immediately ends your current rage. You cannot use Detonate again until you have completed a short or long rest.
The DC for this effect is 8 + your strength modifier + your proficiency bonus.
Reckless Assault
At Level 14, when you are raging and you attack recklessly you rain an unceasing number of punches on your enemy.
You gain the following benefits whilst raging:
- The damage from your unarmed strike is increased from 1d6 to 1d8.
- You gain one extra unarmed attack as part of your attack action.
