Base Class: Barbarian
u/Rain-Junkie's Path of the Sky Splitter Barbarian Subclass, with revisions by u/Mikazel. A Bowbarian subclass focused on dealing ranged damage in melee!
Barbarians that follow this path use bows and arrows in an attempt to emulate the power of the lightning that splits the sky open. By getting close to their foes, they can strike not with deadly accuracy, but instead with a ferocity that only a barbarian can achieve, their arrows shattering their foes.
Brutal Draw
When you take this path at 3rd level, you become skilled at delivering a savage blow. When you make a ranged weapon attack with a shortbow or longbow, you can make it a wild shot. A wild shot has disadvantage beyond 15 feet, you can use Strength rather than Dexterity for attack and damage rolls of the wild shot, and a wild shot counts as a melee weapon attack for the purposes of your Barbarian features.
Dance of Arrows
Also at 3rd level, you thrive during the thrill of combat as you dance in and out of danger. When you make a wild shot on your turn while raging, you can make one additional wild shot against a different creature as part of that action. Starting at 10th level, this additional attack deals an additional 1d8 damage.
Additionally, when you use Reckless Attack while raging, you can move 5 feet without provoking attacks of opportunity.
Staggering Shot
At 6th level, you can use your reaction to make a wild shot against a creature that moves within 15 ft. of you while you're raging. This attack has advantage, and if it hits, the creature is pushed 15 ft. directly away from you and is knocked prone. You can use this feature once per rage.
Hunter's Fury
At 10th level, you can take the search action as a bonus action, and if you find a creature who was previously hidden from you, you can enter a rage as a reaction. Additionally, if you did not already gain proficiency in Investigation and Perception. If you already have either of these proficiencies, your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses that proficiency.
Mountain's Folly
Starting at 14th level, you can fire an arrow that shatters mountains. As an action while raging, you can being charging this shot, which is considered an attack for the purpose of your Rage. If you move or take an action or reaction, you stop charging. If you charge the shot until the start of your next turn, you can release the arrow, which fires out from you in a line 600 ft. long and 1 inch wide, and ignores cover. Each creature in the line must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier), taking 6d8 piercing damage on a failed save or half as much on a success. A nonmagical object in the line that isn't being worn or carried takes maximum damage from the arrow.
If the target is Large or larger, it takes an additional 2d8 piercing damage for each size it is above Medium.
Each additional use of this feature requires an additional action of charging, to a maximum of 5. This feature resets back to requiring 1 action of charging at the end of a long rest.
Use the slots attributed to this feature to track the number of actions currently required to charge Mountain's Folly.
