Base Class: Fighter
The Veteran subclass hones in on a Fighter's fighting ability and provides addition damage and benefits to keep them in the fight longer. This build takes the UA Brute as its base and changes it slightly to focus in on damage and survivability, all while attempting to maintain its simplistic design to provide players with an option other than Champion. The Brute was seen more in lines of Strength based however, the Veteran subclass' verbiage keeps in mind for both Strength and Dexterity builds.
Conditioned Strike
Starting at 3rd level, you've trained your body to strike with devastating or calculated force. Whenever you hit with a melee attack, the damage increases by an amount based on your level in this class starting at 1d4 at 3rd level, increasing to 1d6 at 5th, 1d8 at 11th, and finally 1d10 at 17th.

Determination of One's Will
Starting at 7th level, your training allows you to shrug off assaults that would devastate others. Whenever you make a saving throw, roll 1d6 and add the results to your saving throw total. If applying this bonus to a death saving throw increases the total to 20 or higher, you gain the benefits of rolling a 20 on a d20.

- Your movement speed is doubled.
- When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can make one additional attack as part of the action.
- You regain hit points at the start of your turn equal to 5 + your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1). You don't gain this benefit if you have 0 hit points or if you have more than half of your hit points left.
As result of extending ones self to their limits your movement speed becomes 0ft until the start of your next turn and you gain one level of Exhaustion. You can continue to use this feature but continue to accumulate levels of Exhaustion with each use.

Posted Jun 19, 20213rd level feature Conditioned Strike wording should be an attack rather than melee attack. That way it isn't limited to one play style and accommodates the character people wish to make.
