Base Class: Wizard
A wizard who will inscribe runes. Sometimes they may seem like a burden but never are
Bonus Proficiencies
You gain proficiency with light armor, and all other types of swords when you choose this feature at 2nd level
Inscription
At 2nd level, You have learned to inscribe runes into blades, at the end of your long rest, you can inscribe two weapons, inscribing a third will remove the first.
To inscribe a weapon requires you to no longer prepare a 3rd or lower level spell. This lasts until your next long rest. Once per turn, when you attack with that weapon, you can attack with the inscribed spell at it’s lower level instead, doing so still requires a separate spell attack or spell DC. If the target is a spell caster, you have disadvantage on any spell attack roll for this feature, and they have advantage on the spell saving throw. If you successfully attack the spellcaster with this feature, the target takes additional force damage equal to twice the level of the inscribed spell.
At tenth level you can use up to 4th level spells and up to 5th level spells at level 20. This additional feature cannot apply to multiclassing.
Each rune lasts until your next long rest, in where you can replace it for another
Runeslash
At 6th level, when you attack a creature with an inscribed weapon, you can deal additional force damage equal to triple the force damage. (This extra damage has no penalty and is not affected by resistance, vulnerability, or immunity).
Replacement/Retribution
Replacement:
When you are subject to a spell attack, you can use your reaction to absorb the spell, you must make a INT DC equal to the enemy spell attack bonus + your proficiency bonus for a spell attack, or succeed on the enemy spell DC + 2 for a spell that requires a weapon. You then replace the rune on your weapon with the runes of the spell you absorbed. You can then cast the spell using the Inscription Feature. You cannot cast the spell if it is not on the spell list of your class.
Retribution:
when you replace a spell for another with the Replacement feature, you can force all creatures (other than you) within 15 feet of you to make a spell saving throw, the creatures take force damage equal to 5 times the spell level on a fail or half as much on a success.
the spells cast with this effect can be only 4th level or lower, but you can use 5th level spells at level 20.
Rune Mastery
You gain the Extra Attack feature and proficiency with the calligraphy supplies. You have advantage on any check you make with those tools.
