Base Class: Monk
The Hamon Tribe is a long-lost generation of martial artists who use breathing techniques to channel the radiant energy within them to strike down evil and heal wounds. The main characteristic that defines a Hamon user compared to the much more well-known Sun Soul monastery is their breathing technique. They also generally tend to use their physical ability in addition to the gifts of their tradition, empowering attacks and mending flesh.
Hamon Breathing
Beginning at 3rd level, you have learned an advanced breathing technique that allows you to continue fighting when you are tired. When you have 0 ki points, you may regain 1 ki point as an action. This feature cannot be used while you are suffocating. You may use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all uses of it when you finish a long rest.
Radiant Strike
Starting at 3rd level, you can empower your attacks with Hamon. Once per turn, when you hit with an attack using an unarmed strike or monk weapon, you may spend 1 ki point to deal an extra 1d8 radiant damage to the target of your attack.
Hamon Heal
Beginning at 6th level, you can heal the wounds of yourself or others with Hamon. As a bonus action, you can spend 2 ki points to touch a creature (which can be yourself), causing them to regain hit points equal to 1d6+your Wisdom modifier. If the creature is under an effect that prevents them from regaining hit points, you may spend 1 additional ki point to dispel any such effect when you use this feature.
Hamon Traction
Starting at 11th level, your Hamon can help you keep your footing under pressure. As a reaction to being moved against your will or knocked prone, you can spend 1 ki point to prevent being knocked prone or half the distance moved. Additionally, you may take a bonus action to ignore difficult terrain until the end of your turn, provided that you are in difficult terrain and are not prone.
Life Sense
Beginning at 17th level, your sense of life force has allowed you to detect a lack of it. As an action, you can detect whether any creatures within 15 feet of you that you can see are undead or constructs. You only know whether or not there are any, not who, where, or what type.

Posted Dec 13, 2025I think you should add something along the lines of "or would reasonably not be able to breath" to Hamon Breathing, because there are certain features that make someone immune to the suffocation condition and you cant very well use hamon at the bottom of the ocean
