Base Class: Barbarian
Are you insane in the membrane?
Don't shy away from being a little psychotic... embrace your insane lack of sanity on the battlefield! Fight on the frontlines and scream your favourite psychotic catch phrases like:
- "DeAth BiscUits!"
- "I'M fiGhting my OUTER DEMONS!"
- "DuLL aXES for Chicken WinGs!"
I'M THE DEATH BISCUIT OF DOOM!
3rd-level Path of the Psychotic feature
When you enter your rage, you unlock the psychotic power inside of you. Until the rage ends, you are psychotic. Whilst psychotic you have access to psychotic actions, and you add your Strength modifier to the attack and damage rolls when you attack with it, as normal. You require a free hand to use the below actions.
Psychotic Actions:
MEAT MY FIST. You become so confident of your natural physical abilities that successful punches seem to regenerate both your ego and your health. It deals 1d8 bludgeoning damage on a hit. Once on each of your turns when you damage a creature with this punch, you regain a number of hit points equal to your proficiency bonus, provided you have less than half your hit points when you hit.
SMACK AND WACK. You use an item or weapon within reach to attack your enemy. The item or weapon must be able to be held with one hand. It deals 1d6 damage on a hit (damage type determined by item/weapon used). Once on each of your turns when you attack with SMACK AND WACK using the Attack action, you can make one additional SMACK AND WACK attack as part of the same action.
PISS OFF. You throw a small item or weapon within reach to attack or distract your enemy. If thrown as an action, the item has a range of 10ft, is not affected by 5ft close range disadvantage and deals 1d8 damage on hit (damage type determined by item/weapon used). If a creature you can see within 10 feet of you hits you with an attack roll, you can use your reaction to throw an item or weapon within reach and roll a d8, applying a bonus to your AC equal to the number rolled, potentially distracting the target from attacking you.
I AM REALITY!
6th-level Path of the Insane feature
When psychotic, you believe you are a powerful magical being. Your crazed state of mind cracks into reality. Your psychotic actions count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
When taking a short rest or long rest, you can conjure visions in your mind of what it would be like if you were just a little bit better. These visions become reality. Choose one of the following benefits, which lasts until you finish your next short or long rest:
I'M A FISH!!!
In your vision you were on the ocean floor, violently chasing clown fish that forgot to perform at your child's birthday party.
You believe you are a fish with legs and arms. Gain a swimming speed equal to your walking speed, and you can breathe underwater.
I'M AN ASKOTORT!!!
In your vision, you were jumping on a giant cheeseball. On the cheeseball, you could float and jump very high. You eventually jump too high and drift away into the abyss.
You believe you are something called an "Askotort". When you jump, you can make a Strength (Athletics) check and extend your jump by a number of feet equal to the check’s total. You can make this special check only once per turn.
I'M POSSESSED BY THE CEILING DEMON!!!
In your vision, you were in cozy bed, on your side cuddling Prince Arthur (your pink stuffed toy). You decided to turn, to sleep on your back. On the ceiling... a monstrous demon with disgusting slobber, shrieked "I'm the ceiling demon!!! Possession is my profession!!!".
You believe you are possessed by the ceiling demon. You gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed, and you can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
NO! YOU'RE CRAZY!
10th-level Path of the Psychotic feature
When you hit a creature with your psychotic actions, your intense mental state is shared with the target. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus) or suffer one of the following effects (your choice):
- The target is inspired by your lack of sanity and must use its reaction to make a melee attack against another creature of your choice that you can see.
- The target is unnaturally terrified by your state of mind and takes 2d12 psychic damage.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
MURDERING BUT WITH FRIENDS!
14th-level Path of the Psychotic feature
Your psychotic state of mind grows so powerful that you can spread its violent aura to others and gain resilience from them joining your murder party. When you enter your rage, you can choose a number of other willing creatures you can see within 30 feet of you equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum of one creature). You gain 5 temporary hit points for each creature that accepts this feature. Until the rage ends, the chosen creatures can each use the following benefit once on each of their turns: when the creature hits a target with an attack roll and deals damage to it, the creature can roll a d6 and gain a bonus to the damage equal to the number rolled.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
