Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

With a cacophony of different voices originating from one mouth, a halfling draws upon the divine magic of a fallen cleric to heal his comrades.

A fragmented soul is created when several loose souls are ripped apart by unknown phenomena, then put together incorrectly using pieces from different souls. Creatures who die but are then resurrected using divine magic or returned to life by other means, sometimes find themselves returned to life with a fragmented soul, their own soul having been partially ripped apart and spliced together with fragments from other souls. This allows a creature to draw strength from each soul fragment, gaining new knowledge and power that they did not know of before.

No matter what way a creature obtains a fragmented soul, this strange and often deeply disturbing event manifests in various ways - both physically and mentally. Roll on the Manifestations of a Fragmented Soul Table to determine a manifestation, or come up with your own.

Manifestations of a Fragmented Soul Table

1d6

Manifestation

1

Whenever you dream, those dreams often depict people, locations and events that you have no recollection of.

2

Sometimes you get cravings for drinks, food and other consumables that you have never tried or seen before.

3

After casting a spell, your form can shift slightly for a few seconds, taking the appearance of one of the other soul fragments that make up your Fragmented Soul.

4

Whenever you speak, your voice sounds like multiple people speaking at once.

5

Whenever you cast a spell, spectral forms with vaguely humanoid shapes appear around you for a few seconds, mimicking your movement.

6

You sometimes find yourself understanding certain words, letters and phrases of languages that you have never encountered before.

Fragmented Memories

At 1st level, you have gained knowledge and experience from the other soul fragments. You gain proficiency in one skill or tool of your choice, learn one language of your choice and learn two cantrips of your choice from any class’ spell list and add them to your list of known cantrips. These cantrips count as sorcerer cantrips for you, and don't count against your maximum number of cantrips known.

Shared Vessel

At 1st level, you have learnt how to allow one of the other fragmented souls to take control for a short while. As a bonus action, you can grant yourself one of the following benefits:

Rogue. You can immediately take the Hide action as part of the same bonus action, and can add your Charisma modifier to the Dexterity (Stealth) check.

Mage. You can teleport up to an unoccupied location within 30 feet of you. You teleport back to your original location at the end of your current turn.

Priest. You gain the benefits of the Protection from Evil and Good spell until the beginning of your next turn.

Bard. You can grant an ally within 60 feet of you a d8, which they can add to the next attack roll, ability check or saving throw they make.

Monk. You can immediately take the Dash action as part of the same bonus action.

Warrior. You can add the result of 2d4 to the next attack roll you make.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier per long rest.

Unfamiliar Arcana

Starting at 6th level, you’ve learnt how to wield forms of magic previously unknown to you through your soul fragments. At the end of a long rest, you can choose to learn a spell from any class’ spell list of 1st through 5th level for which you have spell slots of the same level. You know the chosen spell until you use this feature again.

Greater Vessel

Starting at 14th level, the connection to your other soul fragments has grown stronger, allowing you to tap into more of their strength. Your Shared Vessel feature improves in the following ways:

Rogue. The next attack you make after taking the Hide action with this feature deals an extra 2d6 damage on a successful hit.

Mage. You can choose whether or not you want to teleport back to your original location at the end of your turn.

Priest. You also gain a number of temporary hit points equal to 2d4 + your Charisma modifier.

Bard. You can grant a d8 to two allies instead of just one.

Monk. You can move along vertical surfaces and across liquids on your turn without falling during the move.

Warrior. You gain a +2 bonus to your AC until the beginning of your next turn.

Army of Souls

Starting at 18th level, you’ve learnt how to call upon the full strength of the other fragments that make up your fragmented soul, and have them aid you in battle. As a bonus action, you summon forth the full and true forms of your soul fragments. The next time you cast a spell that targets a single creature, such as Fire Bolt or Phantasmal Force, you can choose to target a number of extra creatures equal to your Charisma modifier. Depending on the spell, either each target must make a saving throw or you will have to roll a separate attack roll for each target.

This feature cannot be used in tandem with the Twinned Spell metamagic option.

You can use this feature once per long rest.
