Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

The oakleaf rangers expertise in stealth and ability to seemingly appear out of nowhere makes people believe they actually use dark magic.

Rangers cloak

The Oakleaf rangers wear special cloaks which camouflage in the environment around being perfect for stealth. While wearing the rangers cloak you gain the following benefits:

  • You gain +2 to dexterity (stealth) checks
  • You may attempt to hide even when you’re lightly obscured.
  • when in dim light, darkness, lightly obscured or heavily obscured you may roll dexterity (stealth) checks at advantage.

Rangers cunning

Your cunning as an Oakleaf ranger extends to many things not only in stealth and archery. You gain the following benefits:

  • you gain expertise in dexterity (stealth). If you already have expertise in stealth you may choose another skill which you are proficient in and gain expertise in that skill.
  • you gain proficiency with longbows and you gain +1 to attack rolls made with longbows.
  • you get to add half you proficiency bonus, rounded down, to any ability check that uses your dexterity, wisdom, or intelligence that you are not proficient in already.

Master archer

Your expertise in archery grants you rate of fire and compensation for loss of damage. You gain the following benefits:

  • when you take the attack action on your turn you can make an additional attack as part of that same action.
  • When you hit with a ranged attack that does not benefit from your sneak attack you may add your proficiency to the damage of the attack.

At 15th level you can make three attacks instead of two when you take the attack action.

Hide in plain sight

Starting at 13th level, you can remain perfectly still for long periods of time to set up ambushes.
When you attempt to hide on your turn, you can opt to not move on that turn. If you avoid moving, creatures that attempt to detect you take a −10 penalty to their Wisdom (Perception) checks until the start of your next turn. You lose this benefit if you move or fall prone, either voluntarily or because of some external effect. You are still automatically detected if any effect or action causes you to no longer be hidden.
If you are still hidden on your next turn, you can continue to remain motionless and gain this benefit until you are detected.

Perfected technique

At 17th level your perfected mastery over stealth and archery extends to the maximum limits. You gain the following benefits:

  • your dexterity score increases by 4 to a maximum of 24.
  • the stealth bonus from your rangers cloak ability increases to +4.
  • You gain advantage on initiative rolls
