Base Class: Wizard
The conquest of magic is to be achieved through number and measure.
When magic was deemed evil during the times of darkness, creatures bearing the gift of magic had the single choice of following Orcus or being killed as a witch, where sometimes one led to the other. After Orcus was defeated, a wizened old man showed himself to the world. Using great magics, he offered the people help in their time of need, redeeming the public image of magic users all on his own. This old wizard errected a school for learning magics, which is taught in a special way he called the "Magica Doctrinalis". He claimed to be able to teach any peasant the art of wizardy, using the schoolings of Magica Doctrinalis. Through number and measure magic can be written down in a way that anybody capabale enough can reproduce the same effects as anyone else can through magic.
Magic Savant
Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, the gold and time you must spend to copy a spell into your spellbook is halved.
Defining School
Beginning at 2nd level, you can blur the lines between the spell casting classes. This is not an easy task, but you can manage it by first focusing on a single school of magic. Choose one school of magic. When you find a spell of the chosen school of magic, which is not on the wizard spell list, you can still transcribe it into your spellbook as if it was a wizard spell. After transcribing such a spell, it counts as a wizard spell for you.
You can cast spells from spellscrolls of the chosen school as if they were wizard spells, even when they are not.
Whenever you gain an Arcane Tradition feature, you can choose an additional school of magic for this feature.
Deepened Understanding
Starting at 6th level, your understanding of magica, the magical energy, deepenes. Choose a second school of magic to apply to your "Defining School" feature.
Additionally you learn the Counterspell and the Dispel Magic spells and have them prepared at all times. If you already know these spells, you learn different wizard spells of your choice. The spells don't count against your number of spells known nor against the number of spells you can prepare.
Deconstruct Spells
Beginning at 10th level, you can choose a third school of magic to apply for your "Defining School" feature.
Also starting at 10th level, you have advantage on ability checks from your Counterspell and Dispel Magic spells, when you cast them against a spell that you have prepared.
Overflowing Magica
You choose a fourth school of magic to apply for your "Defining School" feature.
Also starting at 14th level, you have the ability to gain knowledge of spells you magically deconstructed.
Immediately after you successfully used Counterspell or Dispel Magic, you can gain knowledge of the spell if it is at least 1st level and of a level you can cast (it doesn't need to be a wizard spell). For the next 8 hours, you know the spell and can cast it using your spell slots.
Instead of gaining the spells knowledge, you can absorb it's remaining magica, spending a number of uses of this feature equal to the spell's level. You regain one expended spell slot of the spell's level - 1 or lower.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to twice your proficiency bonus and you regain all uses when you finish a long rest.
After spending 100 uses of this feature, your alignment changes to lawful neutral, as the overflow of magica in your body makes you apathetic.
