Base Class: Rogue
Skilled and versatile operatives, the Shinobi combine many techniques and disciplines, incorporating stealth, movement, and combat prowess to form a flexible, adaptive whole far greater than the sum of its parts drawing from a collected body of knowledge know as ninjutsu. Typically working as spies and assassins, they employ methods that initially present as mundane but in truth possess great and subtle refinement in execution and synergy concealing a deadly art form without equal. Such is their skill and discipline that to know a Shinobi's wrath is to stand condemned.
Ninja Training
Starting at the 3rd level when you choose this archetype you learn the basic ways of a ninja. Starting with proficiencies in kunai’s (knives) that can be thrown up to 50 ft. and Kodachi (long swords, given finesse property when using it with 1 hand) you also gain proficiency in studded leather armor and can choose it over leather.
You also gain these weapons over a rapier and knives.
You can throw your kunai as an action but and picking them counts as a bonus action (However if you are not already close you must use an action to walk closer)
Additionally , at this level, you gain a climbing and swimming speed equal to your walking speed if you don’t already have them. Due to your adept ninja training you know how to walk on water and run up walls. When faced with a shear wall you can run up, or sideways, as many feet as your walking speed. Similarly you can run on water up to however far your walking speed is before falling in. When walking on water you still have to make movement actions, once all of it adds up to your walking speed you fall in. When running up a wall you must do it in a single bound
Feign death
At the 9th level you learn the art of misleading and distraction.
You can temporarily drop your hit points to 0 knocking you unconscious.
You immediately gain the attention of nearby creatures and when you get hit you ragain half your hit points plus 2 x your rogue level. You, then, gain advantage on your next attack and you can use it immediately regardless of when your turn is.
You can use this ability twice per long rest
Hide Like a Ninja
At the 13th level, you learn how to strike from concealment, remaking unseen until the very moment of execution.
You can attempt to hide, even when only lightly obscured.
In addition, you can use your action to attempt to move adjacent to a creature, spending movement as normal. If you do, you can make a melee attack, on your next turn, against it. If you're hidden during this action you can attack with advantage, and you aren’t revealed even while you're clearly visible until the attack resolves.
You can use this ability 2 time per short rest.
Shinobi Focus
At the 17th level you emersed yourself further into the art of the Shinobi. You can focus all your energy at once as a bonus action once per long rest. After doing this you gain the following benefits.
- You gain a +2 misc bonus added to your AC
- You can use your sneak attack ability regardless of whether you have advantage or not
- You can also duplicate your kunai and throw up to 6 at a time on 1 or multiple creatures and if you choose to throw all of your kunai on one creature you can use a sneak attack and during the sneak attack you can pick up your kunai immediately
- Sneak attack does 8ds instead of 6ds
- If you are grappled you can immediately disengage without using an action
- You gain one extra attack but can still only use sneak attack once
You lose focus after the turn you first attack or after you get hit
