Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks who follow this way are touched by the light of the positive planes. Through their training and meditation they can connect with the power and entities within these planes to cast divine spells, resist negative energy, and enhance their focus.

Spellcasting

When you reach 3rd level, you augment your martial prowess with the ability to cast spells.

Cantrips

You learn three cantrips of your choice from the cleric spell list. You learn another cleric cantrip of your choice at 10th level.

Spell Slots

The Way of Radiance Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.

For example, if you know the 1st-level spell Charm Person and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast Charm Person using either slot.

Spells Prepared of 1st Level and Higher

You can prepare three 1st-level cleric or paladin spells of your choice.

The Spells Prepared column of the Way of Radiance Spellcasting table shows when you can prepare one or more cleric or paladin spells of 1st level or higher.

Spellcasting Ability

Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for your cleric and paladin spells, since you learn your spells through meditation and divine connection. You use your Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Wisdom modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a cleric or paladin spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Sunlit Warrior

Also at 3rd level, your connection to the positive planes and the gods grants you additional benefits.

When you cast a spell that requires a weapon attack (such as Blinding Smite) you can use your unarmed strike instead of the weapon attack for that spell.

Whenever you cast or activate a spell you are concentrating on using your bonus action, you can make one unarmed strike as part of that same bonus action.

Infused by Positive Energy

Beginning at 6th level, through your meditation and connection to the upper realms have suffused you with positive energy. You have advantage on all saving throws to resist being charmed or frightened, and gain resistance to radiant and necrotic damage.

Exalted Focus

Starting at 11th level, your soul has been blessed with an increase of focus. If you would lose concentration on a spell you are concentrating on, you can spend 1 Ki point to maintain concentration instead.

Burst of Radiance

Upon reaching 17th level, you can spend 3 Ki points as an action to cause divine light and power to burst from you 30 feet in all directions. Any creature you designate as an ally, including you, regain hit points equal to 2d10 + your monk level. Any creature you designate as an enemy takes 2d10 + your monk level radiant damage, and must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or become blinded for 1 minute. A creature blinded this way can attempt a new saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
