Bard
Base Class: Bard

She dances and laughs as her brush slides across the wall, her art forming into the brilliant shapes and colours she imagined in her mind. As she giggles to herself, the figures begin to move, they begin to shift and walk and they join in her dance. She reaches in and grabs them by their hands, pulling them from the wall and twirling with them in a masterfull display.

Those of the College of the Canvas are trained in visual expression, using their painting or drawing skills to create living images to aid them, eventually even turning their masterful skills upon themselves and breaking the divide between master and masterpiece.

Many see the visual arts as less impactful than the performative arts; the College of the Canvas begs to differ.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of the Canvas at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Painter's Supplies.

You may use your Painter's Supplies as a spellcasting focus for your bard spells.

Unstill Life Painting

Starting at 3rd level, you have gained the ability to channel your magic into a piece of artwork you have created. As a Bonus Action, you can expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration to quickly paint a creature with a CR of 1/4 or lower that you have seen.

On your next turn that creature appears anywhere within 20 feet of you and is under your control for 1 minute or until dismissed or reduced to 0 hit points. You can mentally command the creature on its turn. The creature takes its turn immediately after yours. When the creature is dispelled a puddle of paint forms where it last was.

You may only have one creature summoned in this fashion, attempting to create another will cause the first to be dispelled.

The creature is magical and, for the purposes of effects like dispel magic, is treated as a spell level equal to half your bard level (maximum of 9). The creature is also clearly not real and made of paint so is unlikely to fool anyone.

At Higher Levels, you can paint more powerful creatures. At 6th Level you can paint up to CR 1 creatures. At 10th Level you paint up to CR 2 creatures. At 14th Level you can paint up to CR 3 creatures, and at 18th Level you can paint up to CR 4 creatures.

Acrylic Equipment

Starting at 6th level, you can paint a thick layer of paint on a willing creature that you can touch with your Painter's Supplies as a Bonus Action, painting bits of armour on their body or painting over their weapon. The creature you've painted on gains either a +2 bonus to its AC or gains a +2 bonus to its damage rolls with its current weapon for 1 minute. You may do this once, regaining the ability to do so at the end of a short rest.

Body Paint

Starting at 6th level, the line between master and masterpiece have become blurred.

You can cast the spell alter self using your Painter's Supplies, without expending a spell slot. You can do so a number of times equal to your Charisma modifer (minimum 1), regaining all expended uses at the end of a long rest.

Magnum Opus

Starting at 14th level, you have achieved your dream, your masterpiece, your pride and joy, your magnum opus.

You can cast a spell that you do not know. The spell can be from any class list and is considered a bard spell for you. The spell must be of a level that you can cast and you must expend the appropriate spell slot. You can cast a lower level spell using a higher spell slot as normal. Once you cast a spell in this fashion, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.
