Base Class: Monk

A mortal waits for no one, whereas an immortal waits for an eternity. Monks of the Way of Immortality seek the power of infinity through precise channeling and perservation of their own ki. Through patience and meditation, any monk can obtain an ageless body. Through dedication to oneself, a monk may even achieve ageless immortality. A practicioner of the Way of Immortality avoids any certain death through the power of eternity, mastering the ability to never be killed by any means necessary.

Eternal Energy

3rd level Way of Immortality feature 

A practicioner of immortality must first learn how to allow everything to become a part of oneself in order to gain access to the world as a source of power. Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your amount of ki points is now equal to your monk level + your proficiency modifier.

Irregular Arts

3rd level Way of Immortality feature 

When an immortal fights, it is a key element to not allow oneself to be struck in the first place.

When you use flurry of blows you can choose to either grapple or push the creature 15 feet away if one unarmed strike hits.
As a reaction on the turn patient defense is used, you can counterattack with an unarmed strike when a creature misses a melee attack aimed towards you.

Endless Existence

6th level Way of Immortality feature 

You have learned to fuel your life energy through the exchange of ki. When you're reduced to 0 hitpoints, you can instead spend ki points to recover hitpoints. You can only use this feature once per combat encounter. 

Abiding Technique

11th level Way of Immortality feature 

Soon, as the immortal gets closer to perfection, they must learn to defeat foes who seek to claim the secrets of eternal youth for themselves. As such, the Way of Immortality teaches students the ability to protect one's mind and body, as well as arts of offense to defeat foes and rivals alike.

You gain resistance to psychic damage and have advantage on saving throws against resisting the charmed status effect. You no longer require sleep, however must meditate for 30 minutes to get the benefits of a short rest and 4 hours to get the benefits of a long rest. 
Additionally, you gain the ability to use the following ki actions: 

  • Force of Fury: You can spend 2 ki points to enhance your fists with ki in order to deal additional force damage equal to your martial arts die until the end of your turn.
  • Indestructible Defense: You can spend 3 ki points to surround yourself in an endless force, gaining resistance towards all types of damage until the start of your next turn. 

Immortal Being

17th level Way of Immortality feature 

With a timeless body and a diamond soul, you finally achieve true immortality. Whenever you're hit with a lethal attack, you can reduce the damage taken by half rounded down. If the damage dealt is still lethal, you may expend a use of this feature again. You can use this effect as many times equal to your wisdom modifier.

Additionally, your understanding of- and connection to this world and infinity has allowed you to bend reality to your will. Once per long rest, you can expend all of your ki to do one of the following actions:

  • Never-Ending Self: You can create clones of yourself equal to half of the ki expended, up to 5 total with each clone within 10 feet of yourself. All have 1 hitpoint and an AC of 15. Each one follow directly after your turn and can only take one action on their turns. They disappear at the start of your next turn.
  • Enduring Resolve: You gain temporary hitpoints equal to the amount of ki points expended, as well as regain hitpoints equal to double the amount.
  • Permanent Destruction: Drawing ki from all sources, you create the essence of destruction within the palm of your hands. For the next minute, all of your unarmed strikes deal critical damage.

10 minutes after the usage of this feature, you suffer one point of exhaustion as the drawback of abusing the natural flow of ki within the world and your own body.
