Base Class: Bard
While Bards can all be deceitful and have hidden motives, Bards from the College of Suffering build entire relationships on countless lies, deceiving even their closest allies. They have lived a lonely and empty life and have suffered through the embarrassment by dreams of torturing those who have wronged them. They have no regrets of keeping these secrets from anyone they’ve come to trust as the suffering of their enemies becomes their greatest goal. While there is no actual college, these Bards have created it all from their own suffering. These Bards are rare and consistently mistaken as students of more common colleges as they’ve become accustomed to hiding their true nature by faking another. They can still be great allies, just rarely honest ones, that carry dark secrets.
Catchy Tune
When you join the College of Suffering at 3rd level, you realize that protecting your dark secrets is the most important part of your journey. You have become exceptional at weaving lies and finding ways to make others bend to your will. You gain proficiency in the deception, persuasion, and intimidation skills. If you already have proficiency in any of these skills, select another charisma-based option instead. If you are proficient in all of these skill, select one to have expertise in.
Verse 1
In battle, at 3rd level, killing your enemies gives you deep pleasure. When expending a Bardic Inspiration use results in the death of your foe, you gain the Bardic Inspiration use back. Inspiring moments write inspiring songs.
At 3rd level, whenever expending a use of your Bardic Inspiration before your attack roll (melee/ranged/or spell), roll your Bardic Inspiration die and if the attack roll is a success, add the roll to your damage to your attack. If the enemy is slain, you gain back the use of your Bardic Inspiration that you expended.
Bridge
You have seen and heard many spells in your travels. Your ability to hear a song and cover it have given you the ability to recite and cast a couple spells without use of the components other mages have to obtain. At 6th level, you learn two additional spells of your choice from any class list to your known bard spells. A spell you choose must be of a level you can cast, as shown on the Bard table, or a cantrip. The chosen spells count as bard spells for you but don’t count against the number of bard spells you know.
Encore
The musical inspiration you get from killing you're enemies has reached a new level. You now can use the death of your enemies at your doing to get into the heads of their allies. At 14th level, whenever killing an enemy with your Verse 1 ability, you can choose to not gain back the use of your Bardic Inspiration. Instead, you may cast Vicious Mockery on any enemies within 30ft of you. If any enemies die from this feature, you still gain back your Bardic Inspiration use.
