Base Class: Monk
"For many, magic is a conduit. Simply a tool taken from the atmosphere around us and given form. This is what the biggest scholars, the truest of wizards believe in when boiled down to it's core. For us, however, we understand that magic is simply a font. Inherently in the universe lie leylines, points of magical origin scattered across the cosmos. What we do is simply harness that intrinsic power straight from the source, and skip all the nonsensical steps."
-Sinclair Whitelight, creator of the Way of the Inherent Leyline
Leyline Spellcasting
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you may locate Leylines scattered around the world. The intensity, strength, and location of these leylines depend on where one might be - whether it is the site of a great magical battle, the location of a church, simply a magical sect of wood or perhaps the lair of a demon - it is up to the DM to discern whether or not you can find a Leyline. If you are not near any leylines, you may open a rift in the fabric of space and interact with a leyline yourself - this must be a ritual, taking two hours and 50 GP worth of incense, herbs, and charcoal. When you interact with a leyline, you harness its' magical power.
The DM decides the nature of the leylines - whether or not you get access to cleric, druid, warlock, or wizard spells. Clerical leylines are typically found in highly religious places, such as churches or sanctuaries. Druidic leylines are located in places with concentrations of fey or untamed wildlife. Warlock leylines are exceedingly rare, only found in the lairs of the most diabolical of creatures. Wizard leylines are typically the standard, and if one is to locate a leyline it is typical for it to be a Wizard leyline.

You may prepare these amount of spells according to your Monk level, and may prepare different spells by your monk level, halved, rounded down. For instance, a 4th level monk can change 2 spells at a leyline per long rest, and a 7th level monk may change 3 spells at a leyline per long rest. You may only change your prepared spells when accessing a Leyline, and may only take spells from a leyline of that type. Wisdom is your spellcasting modifier for these spells.
To cast a spell, you expend a ki point of the spell's level x 2. For instance, a cantrip costs 1 ki point, a 1st level spell costs 2 ki points, 2nd level 4 ki points, 3rd level 6 ki points, and 4th level 8 ki points.
Infusion of Spirit
At 6th level, you gain natural upgrades to your abilities.
As an action, you may change the damaging type of your unarmed strikes, cycling between bludgeoning, slashing, piercing, force, fire, cold, necrotic, radiant, lightning, or thunder.
You may expend a ki point to add 1d6 of any of the above damage types to each of your flurry of blows attacks.
You may also, as a reaction, take an opportunity attack onto a target casting a spell, effectively casting counterspell on a successful hit. They must make a Wisdom saving throw vs your Ki save DC.
Arcane Expertise
Beginning at 11th level, the spells you cast are more focused.
Cantrips no longer cost ki points. 1st level spells cost 1 ki point, 2nd level cost 2 ki points, 3rd 3 ki points, and 4th level cost 4 ki points.
You may add your Wisdom modifier to any damage you do with Cantrips.
You gain proficiency with Arcana if you do not have it already.
Arcane Intervention
At 17th level, you gain the ability to force your potency into a single font. You may choose one spell, of any level, from any spell list, and learn it as a spell. You may cast this spell once per long rest. You may change this spell at a leyline - however, changing this spell costs half your max ki points, and can only be done once per long rest.
