Beat that shield with your weapon strike fear in your enemies? Why wait? Beat your enemies with your shield. 

Raging Vanguard

When you choose this subclass at 3rd level, you gain the ability to bash to your hearts content. While raging, you can use your attack action to smash a creature with your shield using the shove action. If you succeed, the target is knocked prone and is pushed 10ft away from you. 

Bludgeoning Defender

Starting at 3rd level, you can use your shield as a weapon to strike your foes.

Multiattack Defence

At 6th level, you have mastered the art of warding off a sustained assault. When you are wielding a shield and a creature hits you with an attack, you gain a +4 bonus to AC against all subsequent attacks made by that creature for the rest of the turn.

Send 'em Sky High

Starting at 10th level, if you move at least 20 ft in a straight line, and then use the shove action while raging, you can launch your foe flying. If you succeed in shoving them, they take bludgeoning damage equal to half the Athletics check (rounded up) and are launched a number of feet equal to 10 plus the total of the Athletics check. 

Bastion

Starting at 14th level, when you wield your shield and a creature equal to your size or smaller stands behind you, you provide full cover rather than half cover.
