Base Class: Bard
Bards of the college of dance are unique among spellcasters, for they have learned to manipulate the fabric of the Weave through the rhythmic motions of their own bodies. They translate idea to motion to magic, and their spellcasting has a physicality like none other.
Their dance is not merely functional—indeed, functionality is beside the point. It is the beauty of dance, the energy of emotion translated into movement that summons forth the bardic magics. To watch a member of the college of dance perform is to witness the maximum aesthetic and acrobatic potential of the human body, and there are few that can remain unmoved.
Danceweaver
When you join the College of Dance at 3rd level, you learn how to cast spells through the all-consuming art of dance.
You gain proficiency in the Acrobatics skill, if you don’t already have it, and your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make with that skill (this does not stack with Expertise, as normal).
In addition, whenever you cast a bard spell, you can do so through rhythmic motions and gestures instead of the spell’s normal somatic components. To do so, you must have free range of motion, you cannot be wearing medium or heavy armor or carrying a shield, you must have expended at least half your movement since the start of your turn dancing in your current space, and you use Dexterity instead of Charisma as your spellcasting ability for that spell.
If you are dancing to music, you do not require verbal or material components to cast spells. However, if a spell requires material components that have a value or are consumed, you must provide them as normal.
Flow of the Dance
At 6th level, you have so much control over your body that none can hold you. You have advantage on any ability check or saving throw you make to avoid being restrained, grappled, or otherwise have your speed reduced.
In addition, you can smoothly transition from the casting of one spell into another. You may choose to expend a use of your bardic inspiration as a bonus action to attempt this. Roll your bardic inspiration die. When you would cast one spell with a casting time of one action through the Danceweaver feature, you can use all of your movement to dance in place and instead cast two spells, with a combined level equal to the number rolled on your bardic inspiration die (cantrips count as level 0 spells).
After seeing the roll, you may instead choose to cast only one spell of any level, but the bardic inspiration die remains expended.
Evasion
At 14th level, your mastery of dance enables you to avoid serious harm from certain area effects. When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.
Miracle of Motion
At 14th level, you have unlocked the secrets of kinetic energy within yourself. You are constantly under the effect of a freedom of movement spell while you aren’t incapacitated.
In addition, to use your Danceweaver feature, you only need to use half of your movement before casting, you don’t need to have used it to dance in place.
Finally, when you use your Flow of the Dance feature, you still need to use your full movement to dance in place as before, and you still need to expend a use of your bardic inspiration; however, you can cast any two spells with a casting time of one action, regardless of their spell levels.
