Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of the College of Nature draw upon the beauty and majesty of the wilderness through dance, music, and poetry. These bards gather in secluded groves to sing the melodies of nature and share their folklore with one another. They travel the wild lands to witness great events firsthand and ensure that the memory of those events doesn't pass from the world. With their songs, they inspire others to embrace the eternal harmony of nature.

Minstrel of Nature

When you join the College of Nature at 3rd level, you learn one cantrip of your choice from the druid spell list. It counts as a bard cantrip for you, but doesn't count against your number of cantrips known. You also gain proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Animal Handling, Nature, or Survival.

Spirits of Inspiration

At 3rd level, you gain the ability to call forth nature spirits and use them to influence the world around you. As an action, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to magically summon an incorporeal spirit within 5 feet of a creature you can see within 60 feet of you (this can be you), which becomes the target of the spirit's effect. It counts as neither a creature nor an object, though it has the spectral appearance of the creature it represents or a more appropriate creature with similar attributes. For example, you could choose an awakened tree, a giant beetle, or a walrus in place of a bear.

The spirit persists within 5 feet of its target for 1 minute, until you dismiss it as a bonus action, or until you summon another spirit using this feature. A creature can only be targeted by one spirit at a time.

  • Bear Spirit. The target gains a +2 bonus to AC and saving throws.
  • Elk Spirit. The target's speed and jump distance is doubled.
  • Fox Spirit. Whenever the target makes an ability check, it can treat a d20 roll of 7 or lower as an 8.
  • Lion Spirit.  The target can't be charmed or frightened. If the target is already charmed or frightened, the effect is suspended.
  • Owl Spirit. The target can see in darkness, both magical and nonmagical, within 120 feet of it as if it were dim light.
  • Wolf Spirit. The target has advantage on attack rolls against a creature if another enemy is within 5 feet of it, and that enemy isn’t incapacitated.

Harmonize the Elements

Starting at 6th level, when a creature that you can see within 60 feet of you takes acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder damage, you can use your reaction to expend one of your uses of Bardic Inspiration, rolling a Bardic Inspiration die and either adding or subtracting (your choice) the number rolled from that instance of damage. If the creature is targeted by a spirit you summoned using your Spirits of Inspiration feature or within 10 feet of such a creature, you can add your bard level to the number rolled on the Bardic Inspiration die.

Natural Inspiration

Starting at 14th level, when you cast a spell of 1st level or higher which is on the druid spell list, you can regain one expended use of your Bardic Inspiration.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
