Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Some Paladins lack the religious faith of others but still believe in what the Paladins stand for, these Paladins take the oath of the Guardian.  Instead of swearing their loyalty to a church or a Deity they swear their loyalty to the beings around them, to protect and defend them.  While Gods can be fickle and some don’t take kindly to Paladins that take the Oath of the Guardian, some see the nobility in these Paladins’ actions and grant these Paladins their graces.

The Tenets the Guardian are:

Honesty – Don’t Lie or Cheat, make your words your promise.

Courage – Never fear to act, though caution is always wise.

Selflessness – When there is a choice between yourself and others, others always come first

Responsibility – Speak and act confidently, but always take responsibility for the outcome no matter how bad

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level you gain the following 2 channel divinity options.

Phantom Guardian. As an action you imbue yourself with ethereal energy for 60 seconds.  When an ally within 15ft is hit by an attack, you may teleport to any space to their side and attempt to block the attack.  Roll 2d10 and add your constitution bonus, if the value is greater than the damage taken, all damage from that attack is blocked, if the value is less than the damage taken, you take the damage instead.  This effect can chain indefinitely until the effects end.  If your health drops to 0 while this ability is active, you are not knocked unconscious.  Instead you remain at 0 HP and may continue fighting.  While at 0 HP, keep track of any more damage that you take in a damage pool.  While the effects of this ability are active and you have dropped to 0 HP you may no longer be healed above 0 HP.  Instead, any healing that you receive removes points from your damage pool to a minimum of 0.  When the effects of this ability end, if you still have HP remaining you continue as normal, but if your HP had been reduced to 0 one of three things happens.  If your damage pool was at exactly 0 you fall unconscious but are in a stable state and follow normal rules of being stable.  If you had any points in your damage pool you follow normal rules of dropping to 0 HP and automatically fail 1 death saving throw.  If the points in your damage pool total more than your max HP you are immediately dead.  The range of this effect increases to 30ft at level 10 and again to 50ft at level 15.

Selfless Aura. For 1 minute all allies within 20ft gain advantage on all saving throws, but you gain disadvantage on all saving throws and your speed becomes 10ft.  At level 12 the range is extended to 35ft

Greater Guardian

Beginning at 7th Level you gain Greater Lay Hands.  You may sacrifice your hit points to add points to your lay hands pool.  The exchange rate starts 2:1, at level 10 it becomes 1:1 and at level 15 becomes 1:2.  At 20th Level you may spend points equal to 2x the max health of a being to resurrect them. (normal restrictions on resurrection still apply)

Eternal Guardian

Beginning at 15th level you gain immunity to Fear.  Additionally, you take no penalties from old age and cannot be aged magically.

Avatar of Protection

At 20th level you may spend an action to turn yourself into the Ultimate being of protection for 1 hour.  Wings of light appear on your back and you appear to be clad in armor made of sunlight.  You gain a flying speed of 60ft, all incoming damage is halved and all allies within 30ft get advantage on all throws.  You also gain the effects of Phantom Guardian but with 3 exceptions.  The range becomes 60ft,  your HP cannot be reduced below 1 because of any intercepted damage (being hit by an attack the targets you can still drop you to 0 HP), and when the effect ends you do not suffer the instant death effect (e.g. if the damage pool exceeds your max HP, you treat it as if it didn't).  This ability ends early if you choose to end it early or if you begin any rest.  This ability resets at the first dawn after your next long rest.
