Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of Life practice techniques that transform life force into ki, and back again. Through these techniques a practitioner can either become a foul life-drinker, a healer of allies, or a warrior drawing on their own life force.
Overloading Transmutation
When transmuting, you can now regain more HP/ki points than your max possible amount of them. If the value is ki points, it deals 2d12 force damage for every extra ki point to all within 10 ft. of you. If the value is hit points, you gain a number of temporary hit points as the extra hit points.
Ki Exchange
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can transmute ki and life force into each other. As a bonus action, you may deal 5 damage to yourself to regain 1 ki point or expend 1 ki point to restore 5 hit points. You may damage yourself until you are at or below 10 hit points, and can't have more than your maximum number of possible ki points (or hit points). You can exchange as much as you would like during that bonus action.
Hand of the Kami
At 6th level, you gain the ability to transmute ki and hit points in others to a certain extent. You may spend ki points to heal a creature within 5 ft. with the usual 1:5 exchange rate as a bonus action.
Hand of the Oni
Beginning at 11th level, you have also learned to extract another creatures hit points as ki. As an action, you may subject a creature within 5 ft. to a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. If they fail, you regain 1d6 ki points, and they take 5 times that amount of damage.
