The best offense is defense. You have used your years of expertise to magically craft the best gear to keep you alive.
Extra Proficiencies
3rd-level Arcane Tank feature
You gain proficiency in heavy armor and martial weapons. You also gain proficiency with smith’s tools. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tools of your choice.
Arcane Tank Spells
3rd-level Arcane Tank feature
You always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Arcane Tank Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Living Shield
3rd-level Arcane Tank feature
You can magically create a sentient shield that is soul linked to you to aid you on your journey. Because this shield is an extension of your soul, it shares your alignment and has an intelligence, wisdom, and charisma scores equal to your own. It only knows the languages you know and learn; and has telepathy only with you up to 30 ft and is blind otherwise. This shield grants a magic bonus equal to half your proficiency bonus rounded up. While wielding this shield, you have a bonus to your concentration checks equal to the AC bonus this shield provides. This shield can be used as your spell casting focus.
Self Preservation
3rd-level Arcane Tank feature
You can recover at a magical rate. While you are not inside of an anti magic field, healing is doubled when you would roll your hit dice, cast a healing spell on yourself, or drink a health potion.
Extra Attack
5th-level Arcane Tank feature
You can attack twice, rather than once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
Defender’s Swap
9th-level Arcane Tank feature
When another creature you can see sized small or medium is targeted for an attack, you can use your reaction to magically teleport and swap places with the willing target creature within 30 ft of you. If the creature is not willing, both teleportations fail; otherwise the original attack is now up against your armor class. You may do this a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier per long rest.
Unyielding
15th-level Arcane Tank feature
When you are reduced to 0 hit points and are not killed outright, you can choose to drop to 1 hit point instead. Once you use this ability, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
