Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of this college weave tales of virtuous knights so grand, that they themselves seek to aspire towards such greatness. Ironically, their embelished stories have captivated them in the very inspiration they seek to invoke.

Instrumental Weaponry

At 3rd Level, You gain proficiency in medium armor, shields, and martial weapons. You also gain one of the following fighting styles:

Dueling, Great-weapon fighting, or Two-weapon fighting.

Additionally, simple or martial weapons you wield can be used as a spell-casting focus.

Bardic Oath

At 3rd Level, You take a warrior's oath as you start on a path toward either fame or infamy. You must choose between four oaths to devote yourself to: The Oath of Song, Oath of Secrets, Oath of Legends, or Oath of Grace. The Bardic Oath you select will affect the features you gain through this class.

The spells granted to you through your Bardic Oath counts as a Bard spell for you, but don’t count against the number of Bard spells you know. The spells can’t be replaced when you gain a level in this class.

Oath of Grace

You devote yourself to beauty and flair above all else. You now make Persuasion checks with advantage. Once per short rest, you can cast either Charm Person or Zephyr Strike at 1st Level without expending a spell slot.

Oath of Legends

You devote yourself to the glory found in victory, which lasts for generations to come. You now make Intimidation checks with advantage. Once per short rest, you can cast either Command or Guiding Bolt at 1st Level without expending a spell slot.

Oath of Secrets

You devote yourself to the hidden truths that hide in plain sight. You now make Deception checks with advantage. Once per short rest, you can cast either Disguise Self or Dissonant Whispers at 1st Level without expending a spell slot.

Oath of Song

You devote yourself to the arts, and the meaning they give to living. You now make Performance checks with advantage. Once per short rest, you can cast either Thunderwave or Thunderous Smite at 1st Level without expending a spell slot.

Inspired Smite

At 3rd Level, You can inspire might within yourself as you strike your foes. When you hit with a melee weapon attack, you can expend one spell slot in order to deal an additional amount of damage as shown in the Inspired Smite Damage table below:

Inspired Smite Damage
SPELL SLOT LEVEL ADDITIONAL DAMAGE
1st-3rd 3d6
4th-6th 4d6
7th-9th 5d6
Starting at 5th Bard Level, When you declare an Inspired Smite, you can amplify it by expending one use of your Bardic Inspiration. This increase the size of the d6 damage dice used in the Inspired Smite to the size of your Bardic Inspiration die. For instance, if you are a 10th Level Bard and you expend a Bardic Inspiration die to amplify a declared Inspired Smite at 3rd Level, that Inspired Smite deals an additional 3d10 damage, instead of 3d6.

The damage of your Inspired Smite is of a certain damage type depending on your "Bardic Oath", as shown in the Smite Damage Type table below:

The Oath of Legends Radiant
