Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Death has many who study or work with it. Some; Necromancers seeking power by raising armies of the dead, others searching desperately for a way to resurrect a fallen loved one, whilst some are doing the work of gods who need assistance laying souls to rest, others still believe immortality can be achieved through undeath. What ever your reason for studying death has been thus far you have not obtained the arcane knowledge or divine favor to accomplish your goal, however your search has had you prowling graveyards, haunted manors, abandoned churches and eerie laboratories and you have gained the attention and companionship of an Avatar of Death. The Avatar can fuse itself to you through Resonance, a synchronization of wills, granting you a aide in a number of ways.

The Avatar consumes the souls of the deceased near you, passing them on to whichever afterlife they are destined for. He is a shepherd of the dead and you are his farm hand, his trusted Thresher Knight.

Your Avatar of Death manifests as a spectral wraith-like presence with large claws, It may or may not allow others to see him normally depending on the DM's discretion. He will however manifest visibly to targets of his attacks or abilities. If the DM so chooses he can become visible to everyone near you when it attacks or to anyone who makes a DC  perception or insight check on you. His coloration, garb and other physical appearances are yours to decide.

At higher levels you and the Avatar are more strongly bonded and you will gain different boons from Resonance. Please see the Resonance table below. With each Resonance, the part of your body that is synchronized with the Avatar changes in appearance, this could be to match the Avatars current appearance, its appearance before it's demise or to match that of someone skilled in the task at hand, for example if your hands are in Resonance to help with picking a lock you may have longer dexterous fingers where as if you are using smith's tools you would have larger more calloused hands.

If a save must be made from the affect of a Resonance it is made with the DC 8+PROF+CON Mod.
