Base Class: Druid
Druids of the Hunt know that no creature should be allowed to become too strong, for the safety of the entire ecosystem will be put at risk. Druids of this circle live to hunt down these creatures in order to protect all the other creatures within the land. By imbuing themselves with the spirits of Apex Predators they can match and even overcome the creatures that wish to throw the world off balance.
Natural Instinct
2nd-level Circle of the Hunt feature
You’ve dedicated your life to becoming one with the Hunt.
- You become proficient with Martial weapons
- You know the shillelagh cantrip. When you cast Shillelagh, you can choose to have it effect any weapon as long as you have proficiency with it, and it is at least partially made of wood.
- You have the hunter's mark spell prepared. It counts as a druid spell for you, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can have prepared.
- You can cast hunter's mark without expending a spell slot. You can do so a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Apex Form
3rd-level Circle of the Hunt feature
As a bonus action, you can expend a use of your Wild Shape feature to take on a Apex form, rather than transforming into a beast.
While in your Apex form, you retain your game statistics, but your body becomes wreathed in the spiritual visage of an Apex Predator. This form grants advantage on Survival and Perception checks. The form lasts for 10 minutes. It ends early if you dismiss it (no action required), are incapacitated, die, or use this feature again.
Whenever you assume your Apex form, choose which of the following spirit glimmers on your body; your choice gives you certain benefits while in the form:
Wolf. The spiritual visage of a wolf appears over you. On activation you gain advantage on all attack rolls as long as there is an ally within 5 feet of the target who isn't incapacitated. When an ally you can see gets hit by an attack, you can use your reaction to move up to half your speed towards your ally.
Shark. The spiritual visage of a blood lust driven shark appears over you. When you activate this form, and as a bonus action on your subsequent turns while it lasts, you can make a melee spell attack, biting with the hungry jaw of a spiritual shark. On a hit, the attack deals force damage equal to 1d8 + your Wisdom modifier. If this attack deals damage, you gain temporary hit points equal to twice your proficiency bonus. You gain a swim speed equal to twice your walking speed and you can breathe underwater.
Eagle. The majestic visage of an eagle makes the air your home. You gain flight speed equal to half your walking speed. While in the air, your attacks ignore half or three quarters cover and you have advantage on concentration checks.
Extra Attack
6th Level Circle of the Hunt feature
You can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the attack action on your turn. Moreover, you can cast one of your druid cantrips in place of one of those attacks.
Improved Apex Form
10th-level Circle of the Hunt feature
The visage of your Apex Form improve. The 1d8 of the Shark and becomes 2d8, your reaction from your wolf becomes your full movement and while the Eagle is active, you have a flying speed equal to your walking speed and can hover.
Moreover, at the start of each of your turns while in your Apex Form, you can change which spectral visage forms over your body.
Your Apex Form now lasts for an hour rather than 10 minutes.
Resilience of the Natural World
14th-level Circle of the Hunt feature
