Base Class: Fighter
Powerful Knight that starts with a longsword, chain mail armor and a shield.
Full Counter
Full Counter allows the user to redirect the damage from an enemy back to the enemy. This may be used once every long rest
Poisonous Touch
The dark knights needed a way to stop people from touching their *perfect* armor, so they made a deadly toxin. Touching this can either cause 2d12 poison damage over 2 turns. One drawback to this is the toxin can be transferred to swords by touch, therefore giving the enemy poison damage for a swing (1 turn).
Ungodly Warcry
The dark knights have recognizable war cries that can frighten someone for a couple of seconds. Enemies within ear shot and are not behind a wall roll to not be frightened with disadvantage, they succeed if they roll a 15 or higher.
Better sword handling and strength
With practice and lifting, the dark knight can now deal more damage with any type of sword (+15 damage) and gain +4 strength.
+5 AC
Elder dark knights have been taught on how to make an armored gel for their armor. This gel increases your AC score by 5 whenever you have armor on

Posted Oct 9, 2021I like the basic Idea of this subclass, I do have a few critics though. If you don't mind me putting down my thoughts.
First, like mr.rumble said. add a reason for this subclass to work, perhaps our fighter has been trained in some kind of dark fighting style or art of war long ago as a child and is just now putting it into practice.
Second, with the fact that there is no level requirement it seems the fighter gets all of this at lvl3. Which would be way to overpowered. Perhaps poisonous touch can be at lvl3, but it requires the fighter to make their own poisons, or buy them from shops (I like the fact that the enemy gets a swing with poison after hitting the fighter, good touch to keep it somewhat balanced). In my opinion ungodly war cry seems quite balanced. We should make the requirement for that maybe 6th or 10th level. I think we should get rid of better sword and strength. I personally don't know how to balance that. Maybe get rid of the strength buff and make the damage like +2 maybe, I wouldn't know. and I think +5 ac would be a good 15th or 17th level achievement
Third, full counter seems a bit to overpowered for lvl 3. I suggest making this a 6th or 7th level ability (making war cry a 10th level ability) for this subclass and having them counter half of the damage back onto the enemy.
Other than that I really like the Idea of this subclass. I apologize for the two people who disrespected you in such a way. I think you should continue to make some more subclasses. I might put this into practice for a game

Posted Mar 1, 2019its a pretty cool name but there is no description in to how or why a character would attain these unique abilities. for a subclass to work you need a base them to work of and then base the features of that, for example the eldritch knight subclass focuses on fighters who study magic and build on using spells in combat. everything links to the base idea.
its not a bad first draft I just think you should definitely keep ungodly cry but make the saving throw equal to 8 + con mod + proficiency bonus, like a spell save, and kind of work with that theme of a warrior who uses dark powers in combat.
