Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

The Oath of Purity is favored most often by those who have been wronged by creatures of darkness. They seek to drive out forces that they believe to be polluting the existence of others in the civilized world. However, this extends beyond darkness itself and to other extraplanar meddlesome forces.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Seal the Unholy. As an action, you can seal the essence of a nearby fiend or undead using your Channel Divinity. One fiend or undead of your choice that is within 30 feet of you must make a Wisdom saving throw. If the creature fails its saving throw, it is paralyzed for 1 minute. At the end of each of its turns, and each time it takes damage, the target can make another Wisdom saving throw. On a success, the effect ends.

Seal of Cleansing. As an action, you can cleanse an ally, breaking it free of a debilitating state that might otherwise afflict it. Using your Channel Divinity, you can touch a creature that is charmed, frightened or possessed. The creature you touch is no longer charmed, frightened or possessed.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Oath of Purity Spells

Aura of Purity

At 7th level, you begin to emit a light of purity which cuts through the shadows. While you are conscious, you emit light around you. As a bonus action, you can make the bright light extend up to 10 feet from you. This bright light suppresses magical darkness in its radius. In addition, creatures have disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks while in the light's radius. Invisible creatures and objects are visible as long as they are within the radius of the bright light.

At 18th level, the range of this light increases to 30 feet.

Forcible Cleansing

Starting at 15th level, you gain a higher level of purity, which dark creatures fear to violate. As a reaction when you are hit by an attack or take damage from a spell, you can cast a dispel magic spell targeting the creature that triggered the reaction, ignoring range requirements, and without spending a spell slot.

You can use this action a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Purifier

At 20th level, you gain the highest level of purity, which extends to others. Using your action, you undergo a transformation. For 1 hour, you gain the following benefits:

  • Whenever you hit a creature with a melee weapon, the creature takes an extra 2d8 radiant damage. If you also use your Divine Smite with an attack, you add this damage to the extra damage of your Divine Smite.
  • Whenever you use your Divine Smite with an attack against a fiend or undead, it must make a Charisma saving throw. On a failed save, it is banished. If the target is native to a different plane of existence than the one you're on, the target disappears, returning to its home plane. If the target is native to the plane you're on, the creature vanishes into a harmless demiplane. While there, the target is incapacitated. It remains there for 1 minute, at which point the target reappears in the space it left or the nearest unoccupied space if that space is occupied.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
