Base Class: Bard
The College of Comedy Bard is a subclass entirely based on your ability to make quick puns and quips in the heat of the moment. Those loud nose exhales and cringeful groans are what you're really looking for with this. Prepare a big list of DnD related puns and make everyone at the table love/hate you while simultaneously always looking at you with the hope of you not opening your mouth for once in their eyes.
Bonus Prop-ficiency
You gain proficiency in the Performance skill if you don’t already have it. Items that could be considered a prop for a pun can be used as a Spellcasting Focus.
The Pun-chline
The damage die of your Vicious Mockery cantrip changes to a d6. Whenever you use the Attack Action, this cantrip can be used immediately after the attack is made. This way of casting does not require your Bonus Action. If you use the cantrip this way, you can not cast it again as by the rules of Quip-ening Spell.
If the creature targeted by the Vicious Mockery spell via the casting of The Pun-chline fails its Wisdom Saving throw, it immediately makes a Constitution Saving throw. If it fails said saving throw, it is knocked prone.
World-Liner
Your prowess over the world via your jokes has grown far too strong to be contained. The weave itself shudders as you open your mouth. As a reaction to any Action within 60 ft. of you, you can loudly vocalize a pun relating to said action. At the DM’s discretion, the pun integrates itself into the weave of creation and shapes the world around it. An arrow shot at a hostile creature brings them “under fire”, so they take an additional amount of fire damage. There is no limit to how this ability alters creation around it. The DM decides how the pun affects the world around it, though the user of this ability is allowed to make suggestions as to what effect they had imagined.
This ability is usable a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier per long rest.
Quip-ening Spell
You learn the Vicious Mockery Cantrip if you do not already know it. It is usable for you as a Bonus Action instead of an Action.
Saying “Throw”
As part of your Bardic Inspiration feature, you can target your enemy with one of your Bardic Inspirations. When you use the feature in this way, as a reaction to a saving throw to a mental ability (Wisdom, Intelligence, Charisma) of a hostile creature, you can force the hostile creature to roll one of your Bardic Inspiration dice. They subtract the number rolled to the saving throw they make.
