College of Shade (Adventuring with Pride)

For Adventuring with Pride games.

Bards who join the College of Shade are well aware of the skilful art of "Reading". They use their abilities to cast down their enemies with a comment, and cast legendary Shade with a single verabl component. The Bards who study in this college use their powers of Shade to either entertain people - or to hurt them.

You Shady Queen

Upon choosing this college at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with the Persuasion and Deception skills if you are not already proficient. If you are already proficient in one or both of these skills, you instead gain proficiency with a skill of your choice for each skill you already have proficiency in.

You also learn the Vicious Mockery cantrip if you don’t already know it. If you do already know it, you learn one cantrip of your choice from the Bard spell list.

Very Very Vicious Mockery

Hair-raising Experience

From Level 6 you gain the ability to summon a Whig companion. You can only use this ability once per long rest. You may only have a single Whig summoned at any one time. Once the Whig drops to 0 hit points it will disappear in a puff of fur.

Apex Predator

From 14th level, as an action, you can weave the stuff of myth and legend around yourself for1 a minute. During this time, you can add your charisma modifier to your AC and to any saving throw you make against a spell or magical effect.

While this effect is active, whenever a humanoid that can see you misses you with an attack, or you succeed on the initial saving throw against a spell they cast that targets only you, they are Charmed by you until the end of their next turn. You can use a bonus action to command a creature charmed in this way, as in the Command spell.

Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you complete a long rest.
