Monk
Base Class: Monk

While most monks focus on their own internal flow of Ki, the way of the cosmic web monk has learned to observe the flow of Ki throughout the world and between individuals. The Way of the Cosmic Web monk can utilize these observations to sense the world around them, influence others, and even bind two individuals’ Ki together. In many ways, the Way of the Cosmic Web monk is a bridge between all aspects of the world.

Ki Focus

Choose how to focus on the flow of Ki throughout the day, either between people or throughout the environment. Choose one of the options as your chosen focus.

  1. Gain proficiency in insight, persuasion, perception, or animal handling which all count as wisdom based skills. For 1 Ki point, you can gain expertise in the chosen skill until the next dawn.
  2. Gain 10ft of blindsight

You may spend 3 Ki points to change this during the day.

Companion of Ki

Choose one individual, until the next dawn when fighting within 10ft of your chosen companion, you may give yourself advantage on one attack per turn.

Unbound Ki

You learn to modify the Ki of others to influence their actions. You learn the prestidigitation cantrip. You learn to cast calm emotions, hold person, suggestion, and zone of truth at their lowest level for 2 Ki points.

At 11th level, you learn to cast two of the available spells, confusion or dominate beast, for 4 Ki points.

At 17th level, you may cast mass suggestion for 6 Ki points.

For each individual Ki point spent casting, the spell level will increase by 1.

Tethered Ki

When you strike multiple creatures with unarmed strikes, you may choose to imbue your strikes with negative or positive energy for 1 Ki point per creature you strike. These energies allow you to bridge the Ki of the targets of your strikes as long as they are within 100ft of you. An astral projection is visible connecting you to your targets and you expend the Ki points before rolling to hit.

Multiple negative strikes:

  1. Until the end of your next turn, any damage that affects one of the targets will do half damage to the others
  2. If multiple are damaged individually on the same turn, the damage is not shared between them
    1. All damage is done as if it was delivered directly to each individual. (No sharing resistances)

Mixed negative and positive strike:

  1. Positively imbued strikes deal no damage.
  2. Until the end of your next turn, any damage dealt by positively struck targets to negatively struck targets within melee range heals the attacker by half of the damage done up to their character level. This can occur once per round.

Multiple positive strikes:

  1. Positively imbued strikes deal no damage.
  2. Until the end of your next turn, when one positively struck target is healed, others will also be healed.
  3. If multiple are healed in the same turn by mass healing, the healing is not shared

You may spend 1 Ki point for every two individuals (rounded down) affected as a bonus action to continue these effects on subsequent turns.

Only one of the effects may be in effect at once.

Ki of the Unyielding

After expending 7 Ki points, you are resistant to all damage for the duration of 1 hour. The portion of damage you resist is inflicted upon one individual you choose. You may spend 1 Ki point to transfer this connection to another individual, provided the duration has not ended.

You observe the Ki emanating from the chosen individual. In doing so, you learn of any resistances, immunities, advantages, and vulnerabilities it may have.
