Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Barbarians who follow the Path of the Ice Colossus carry winter's chilling rage within them. Their rage grants them superior strength, durability, and speed. Barbarians who follow the Path of the Ice Colossus learn to bend the winds of winter to their will, by channeling their emotions into their connection with the goddess Sarkoneth. When in a fury, a barbarian of this path becomes frigidly cold as an avalanche of cold magic surges through their veins.

Ice colossi are in tune with nature and have learned to thrive in the coldest reaches of the world. When an Ice Colossi dies with honor they are said to reincarnate as a creature that gains entry into Rimesfog, where they get to enjoy an afterlife in a wintery heaven.

Gunther’s Might

Gunther’s Might

3rd-level Path of the Ice Colossus feature

You have learned how to imbue yourself with the might of frost giants. As a bonus action, you magically gain the following benefits, which last for 1 minute:

  • If you are smaller than Large, you become Large, along with anything you are wearing. If you lack the room to become Large, your size doesn’t change.
  • You gain resistance to cold damage.
  • You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
  • Once on each of your turns, one of your attacks with a weapon or an unarmed strike can deal an extra 1d8 cold damage to a target on a hit.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.

Ingvar's Haze

Ingvar's Haze

6th-level Path of the Ice Colossus feature

As an action you can manipulate the temperature of the air around you to create a snow storm that surrounds you and heavily obscures the area for 20 feet in all directions, following you as you move. You and all creatures within 5 feet of you instead treat this snow storm as lightly obscured. This snow storm lasts for 10 minutes, spreads around corners and cannot be dispersed. Whenever the effect of Ingvar's Haze is activated, you can choose one creature you can see in the snow storm. That creature must succeed on a Strength saving throw, or its speed is reduced to 0 until the start of your next turn, as magical frost covers it.

Whuthrad’s Intuition

Whuthrad’s Intuition

10th-level Path of the Ice Colossus feature

You can’t be surprised as long as you aren’t incapacitated.

In addition, as a bonus action you enter a prophetic state for 1 minute or until you’re incapacitated. Until the state ends, when you or another creature you can see within 60 feet of you makes an attack roll, a saving throw, or an ability check, you can use your reaction to cause the roll to have advantage or disadvantage. Once you use this ability, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.

Sarkoneth’s Fury

Sarkoneth’s Fury

14th-level Path of the Ice Colossus feature

You have become one with the Rimesfog. When you are hit by an attack you can use a reaction to turn into a swirling vortex of snow. While in this form you gain the following benefits:

  • You can move to an unoccupied space 30ft away from you and climb any surface without needing to make an ability check. Additionally, difficult terrain composed of ice or snow doesn't cost it extra movement.
  • The path you travel to while in this form leaves an icy trail behind you covered in spikes of ice making it difficult terrain. Any creature that travels through it also takes 5 cold damage every 5ft traveled.
  •  Once the space is reached your body returns to its original form, as a bonus action you can let out a very loud scream letting out a blast of wintery gusts. Any creature within a 30ft radius of you must make a Constitution saving throw. If failed every creature takes 5d10 cold damage and is knocked prone, on a success the creatures take half the damage rolled and are not knocked prone.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.
