Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Maybe you absorbed the spirit of an old spell master into your form? Perhaps you were involved in an accident and absorbed a well of foreign magical energy. Or maybe your ancestor was a powerful mage, and you carry a sliver of their essence inside you. Whatever the case, you have an arcane power in you that is not your own. Old and powerful, this magic manifests throw your will as instinct and reaction more often then not. The power and knowledge within you are steering you down a path or arcane excellence.

Unfamiliar Magic

At first level, your mysterious magic allows you to learn spells from the Wizard class. When your Spellcasting feature lets you learn or replace a sorcerer cantrip or a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher, you can choose the new spell from the Wizard spell list or the sorcerer spell list. You must otherwise obey all the restrictions for selecting the spell, and it becomes a sorcerer spell for you. This feature also allows you the ability to cast spells you know as rituals, provided they have the ritual tag.

Innate Awareness

When you choose this origin at first level, you are racked with knowledge you may or may not understand. Choose either History or Arcana and become proficient in the chosen skill.

Dynamic Spellcasting

At 6th level you gain the ability to use magic instinctively. Once per long rest, you can cast one Dynamic spell from the Sorcerer or Wizard Spell lists that is not one of your spells known. You choose your Dynamic Spell as you cast it for the first time, and it must be of a level that you have a spell slot for. If your Dynamic Spell is a wizard spell, it counts as a sorcerer spell when cast by you. The first time you cast your Dynamic spell after choosing it, if the spell is 5th level or lower, you may cast it at its base level without expending a spell slot, or expend a number of sorcery points equal to the difference of the level you’re attempting to cast at and the spells base level. For example, if you choose the first level spell Magic Missile but want to cast it at 6th level, you must expend 5 sorcery points to do so.  Once you cast it, your Dynamic Spell becomes one of your known spells until you finish a long rest, and you may only cast it by expending a spell slot.

Arcane Understanding

At 14th level, you have a greater ability to access the knowledge and power you have stored within. You can pick a new Dynamic Spell after a short rest, and the amount of sorcery points required to upcast a Dynamic spell is halved (rounded up).

Arcane Conduit

At 18th level, your experience in the world and the versatile arcane energy within has allowed you to tap into even more types of magic. Your Dynamic spells may be a spell from any class’s spell list. If the spell is 5th level or lower, you can cast it once without using any material components.
